Topic: Sad News From The Boston Marathon....

I agree with this. Not to be rude or insensitive but yeah there are so many other sites like Aol or Yahoo or even the Boston news sites that if a person is interested in the latest news they would go there, not to a Nintendo fan site. I think its time we moved on.

I know I pointed out my motives, but I want to rephrase it and clarify it:

I'm sorry if people are uncomfortable about the updates I've been constantly posting in this thread, but I felt this was an emergency. I had some concerns:

• The bomb explosion looks to be a big deal for many people. There are still unanswered questions at this moment. We don't know if the party responsible were terrorists (foreign or domestic), some psychos, some group wanting revenge, or so forth. We don't know if the bombing is caused by a single person or a group. We don't know if this is a carefully planned attack or something done at the last minute. There is so many unanswered questions that there is no clear solution and resolution to this tragic incident, which can be a big deal for some people. This is an event that's perceived to be so big of a deal that several major press are on their toes for more information as we speak.
• Some people had been making some discussions on this thread, and I felt obligated to provide the latest information so that no one makes an opinionated post without the latest information.
• Lastly, it may be hard for some users to get the whole picture of the incident through the news since the events (i.e. discovered identity of the deceased, the bombs, the status of the patients so far, etc.) are kind of scattered over the popular news sites.

And so therefore, I took the precautionary route and posted the news flash consolidated in my updates. I also linked the cited information for people interested. Whether or not my concerns listed are questionable, I just decided to stay on the safe side and post them.

all right, guys... we're not going to solve the mystery here in this thread. the 'emergency' portion of this seems to have died down, and we have plenty of links and information thanks to FOREST_RANGER's dilligent work. I'm going to go ahead and stop the conversation so we don't have to worry about continued griefing from those who just want to post graphic videos or more conspiracy speculation. Thank you all for (largely) keeping this discussion civil; you have no idea what it means to me this week while I've been sick that I haven't had to wake up to any actual fights in this thread. You guys are awesome :3
