Apparently, Nintendo is contact people who make lets plays, to stop producing Lets Plays over their games.
However, many are stating it could be due to length of these videos.
Well for newer games I can see why, a new game comes out and you watch someone beat it before you do, people are gonna watch the let's play and not bother buying the game since it's spoiled for them, it's best if the game is a nice few years old before a let's play happens.

Well, if Nintendo has the legal grounds, then so be it. Sony, on the other hand, seems to encourage it to an extent. So I'm not sure there's a need to panic yet.
I've never really watched Let's Plays before (because I don't use my free time like that, prefer to experience the game myself or read reviews if I'm on the fence about it), but I'm sure this would be a blow to many. But I can see why: giving consumers an unfiltered view of a game is a double-edged sword, and all it can take is one less-than-friendly review, official or unofficial, to tank a game's sales...
I'm not sure if I'd have much sympathy for those LPers profiteering off of someone else's properties. Particularely the bad players who constantly blame their failures on glitches and bugs that don't exist.
But then, people that profiteer off reviewing other people's hard work rubs me wrong, too.
Um, yes, some do when that's the bulk or all of their video content and are Youtube partners. The video games get the hits, and the LPer is monetized by ads.
They had better not. If Chuggaaconroy gets shut down, the backlash will be incredible.
Are you gonna boycott them over some videos? Really?
I'm talking about the fan base as a whole. I'm not going to boycott them over it, but I personally do watch Chuggaaconroy, so it would be sad if it happened.
