Source says that the guy's been responsible for trying to get 3rd parties on board and has been there since 1991. I'm gonna be honest, the 3rd party support has been very poor especially in the west and especially when it comes to home consoles. Anything can happen but I hope things only go up from here
If his job was maintaining relations with 3rd parties in the west he didn't do a very good job. If anything his departure means nothing will change since he wasn't doing much to being with. Either way, I hope he finds success elsewhere.

In fairness it's not an easy job to maintain relationships with 3rd parties when Ninty likes to do bizarre stuff like limit the amount of games 3rd parties can release in the old days and having very different hardware in recent years.
