Topic: RUMOR: New Donkey Kong Announcement May 1st?

So I've been on /r/donkeykong and I found this site: http://www.donkeykong.country/. It has a white background with a silhouette of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong and the countdown timer has the "Donkey Kong 64" font saying "HE'S BACK". The time? 12:02:59:27. Any ideas?

I'm actually really hyped for this...thing. I don't even care it it's turn out false. I'll watch it tick down. every day I hope it's a new 3D Donkey Kong, which is actually pretty probable. We can play all the "Donkey Kong Country" games one one system and the DKC games been released to tie-in with their sequels. I wonder what this could be...

Oh jeez.... Here we go... More Donkey Kong. This could be cool, though.

I don't really care. Nintendo murdered DKC with the N64 game and with the new games and so forth. Rareware "K.Rool and the Kremlings" sounds like an better title by itself.

If someone went through all the trouble to make a fake countdown site for a Nintendo game... Why would they make it Donkey kong and say "He's Back" when, like, he's been back for the past five years or so?

I love the original DK trilogys (Country and Land) and i never did like DK64 either but i can't understand the hate for the new Wii/Wii U DKC games, they are amazing in their own right. Jungle Beat on the Wii i found really fun with it's unique platforming and the score attack possibilities, and i heard it's even better with the bogo's on Gamecube. The DK Climber games weren't really my cup of tea but after getting good at Clu Clu Land for NES remix i might give them a shot. What games other than DK64 don't you really like? I'm suprised that someone who loved the originals hasn't been fond of Returns and Tropical Freeze.

Perhaps it's a government website for a country named Donkey Kong.

Really still don't get the hate for DK64. I thought it was a ton of fun. I mean, I get the backtracking, a bit, but that never really bothered me in the least. Each character having entirely different options made the game fun and unique.

Haha, I actually got a good laugh out of that one. I can't believe people tried to say he wasn't OP...it's hard to deny a character is too good when many casuals, hardcore, and pro fans agree. I could just imagine Sakurai turning into the Street Fighter producer and intentionally unbalaning Smash in trollish fashion. You want a balance patch? OK...but you also get Evil Ryu and Yun :3. But I guess at the same time Sakurai is already there. Sure, he's toning back OP characters but does NOTHING to buff obsurdley weak characters.

A 3D Donkey Kong game with less tedious collecting than DK64 would be amazing though. I just kinda hope Retro doesn't do the next DK game. They've done a great job, but I want to see them do other things too.
