@RPGamer It really depends on the game for me. I get the physical copies of almost all of Nintendo's flagship releases, partly because of the novelty and partly because my SD card is almost full.
I'm a sucker for sales; almost all of my digital purchases are games that were on sale (Spyro, DBFZ, etc.). Honestly, I prefer the smaller stuff to be on my Switch at all times so I can have a break from the bigger games like Smash or Ultimate Alliance. But that's just me.

I prefer physical games unless 1. the digital release is significantly cheaper (usually from a sale) or 2. there is no physical version of the game. I don't dislike digital per se, but I'm pretty conservative when it comes to SD card space.

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

I've been mostly physical on Switch (though I'll buy digital if there's no other option), while I've found myself going mostly digital on PS4 due to the constant sales I end up being drawn into.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@RPGamer I generally prefer physical games but I'm not a purist. I have no issues about downloading games if that's the only option or if it's much cheaper.

Or in rare cases, like Animal Crossing, I prefer digital so I can quickly hop on and play around every day, and go back to whatever game I'm also playing later, without having to swap games over and over.

Also Switch my my favorite console by far. Going back to PS4 or Wii U just feels like such a downgrade. The hybrid design is perfection! When I go back to PC or PS4 or even 3DS, it feels like going back to using a land line phone or an old flip phone after having gotten used to my smartphone. That's not to say I don't like other platforms, I've played everything from NES to Swtich and most offerings from Sega, Sony and Microsoft too. There's very few game systems I actively dislike.

I like both. I like playing games.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

@RPGamer The Switch is the realization of a dream I never imagined would actually happen, a portable device that allows us to play the same games on the TV or console with no serious restrictions or reductions. Remember the Game Boy era? I grew up playing Game Boy and GB color and GBA. Games on those systems were great! But they always lagged generations behind anything on a console or PC. But the Switch can handle full meat games and all that's sacrificed is some resolution - which doesn't bother me at all.

The only reason I return to PC is for mods and other fan works that will never come to consoles. Most notable Star Wars Empire at War mods: Thrawn's Revenge and Fall of the Republic(Wonderful mods based on the old pre-Disney canon in the post episode 6 era and Clone Wars respectively) and mods for Cities Skylines adding in all kinds of neat things that they'd never get permission to put in the official game (at least not without loads of licensing issues)

I'm an oddball when in comes to collecting. I've never been a fan of disc-based media, too prone to scratching. During the PS1's era I had no qualms about trading in games after I had finished them. During the PS2/Xbox era I was a pirate, rarely paying for games, playing most of my games off a hard drive before digital distribution was even a thing. 360/PS3, all digital all the time, same here on PS4.

However, the Switch is a different beast. Nintendo's decision to go with cartridges sparked my desire to collect again. Something I hadn't done in nearly twenty years. Those rows of red boxes sitting on my shelf make me wax nostalgic every time I glance at them.

As Sony, MS, and the industry in general move towards an all-digital future the Switch feels like the last bastion for collecting games physically.

@RPGamer
I want The Sims 4 get ported to Switch since i really like Life Sim games with character customizing, house designing and click the object or other Sims to interact with them. But since EA is really jerk toward Nintendo, get ported or not, i already get the PS4 version as the only way to play The Sims 4 without get confused by PC specification since i don't play PC games anymore.

Also, i want some PSVR games such as Mini Mech Mayhem, Ghost Giant get ported to Switch without using LABO VR to play like Ultrawings Flat on Switch.

Due to a mild Sonic fever sparked within me (which is directly correlated with the recent film), I'd love some ports of the mid-2000's iffy Sonic games, like Unleashed, Colors, and '06. I've been in the mood for some janky 3D platforming after completing Sonic Forces.

I know I have more, but I just can't think of them for some reason. I'll make sure to respond again once I remember. Also, great picks!

Although I already have the Danganronpa trilogy and Ultra Despair Girls on PS Vita, I wouldn't hesitate to double dip for Switch copies. As for games I'd like to see ported to Switch.

5. Fire Pro Wrestling World - there's a lack of wrastlin' games on Switch and the Fire Pro series is the best in the genre.
4. Batman Arkham series - Arkham Knight might be too difficult to port to Switch, but a double pack for AA and AC shouldn't be too much to ask from WB Games.
3. Borderlands series - having BL1 and BL2 portably would be terrific. Sadly Nintendo said "no" when Gearbox asked for financial backing to produce Switch ports.
2. Mass Effect trilogy - sadly EA doesn't care about the Switch as a platform. All we get are indie games and half-assed ports of FIFA from them.
1. The Orange Box - a collection of Valve's best games (Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal). What core gamer wouldn't want this?

The games caught my attention:
1. Summer in Mara
2. Moving Out

I'm not sure about the others.

@RPGamer I was happy about Exit the Gungeon, and I AM DEAD made me laugh, but not much else. The Direct didn't touch on hardly any anticipated indie titles previously announced, unfortunately. How long do we have to wait for at least a Silksong release window?

So what do you guys think of having a backlog? And if you have one, how big? Mine is probably like 20-25 games at this point. I'm almost afraid to count.

And it's much larger if I consider it to include "games I want to try eventually".
