It's pretty sad for people who knew of him and his music. Easily one of the most loved celebrities I've ever seen(again, amongst the people who knew of him, were fans, etc.). Just a shock really. He died fighting stomach cancer. I just figured out, so I figured I'd post it for any one who cared.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a very silly place.

I hadn't heard this until now.

Sad to see the world lose a legend.

Bummer, metal has lost one of its greatest voices.

I got to meet him back in 1988. One of the truly nicest guys you'd ever meet. Spent over an hour talking to us and even paid for our dinner. A class act and one of the best metal vocalists ever. R.I.P. Dio.

Plain old gamer :)

That's pretty awesome, Corbie. He's an absolute legend from his work with Rainbow to Black Sabbath to his solo career, and he has the voice of an angel(let's be honest). May he rest in peace. That's the least he deserves.

Quoted some Holy Diver in chat not long ago. You will be missed.

He was indeed a legend, up there with the pioneers of heavy metal.
He will live on for as long as people are using the horns at gigs.
67 years old, 53 of those spent rocking, and surely even now he is belting them out from his throne in the heavens.

He made up this didn't he?

R.I.P. to him. (And a great deal of classic rock in general.)
