Chic- again? Couldn't you do something more convincing, like, say, Kool & the Gang? Donna Summer- queen of disco. Nuff said. LL Cool J- I'm surprised he wasn't inducted last year (think about recent history). Beastie Boys- either them or LL Cool J, but not both (they need to induct big acts gradually ) Alice Cooper- if they actually bother, maybe we could see Deep Purple someday J Geils Band- really? Couldn't you have chosen something more convincing, like, say, the RHCP? Joe Tex- who? Bon Jovi- more respect for metal, maybe? Neil Diamond- Um... Donovan- If you induct him, can PP&M be next? Dr. John- who? Darlene Love- never heard of her Laura Nyro- what does she have besides Monterey? Tom Waits- uh..who? Chuck Willis- again, who?
SNUBBED Stevie Ray Vaughan- plagued by his late start Kool & the Gang- the other major funk act Marvelettes- the last remaining Motown girl group Lou Rawls- neither Motown nor Stax, but just plain romantic Barry White- also developed the romantic side of soul Red Hot Chili Peppers- surprising they were overlooked Def Leppard- the last classic metal band left (excluding the rise of glam metal) Deep Purple- one of the Big Three of transition metal (Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Ted Nugent) Big Bopper- he probably would've become a one-hit-wonder anyway Jackie Brenston- provided Rocket 88 Big Mama Thornton- influenced Elvis and Janis Joplin, among others Kiss- the epitome of glam metal, but currently in bad relations with the Hall Devo- should really be innovative enough for the Hall Iron Maiden- changed metal from party time into evil The Cars- the most popular of the original new wave bands, and helped develop the power pop sound

The Hall seems to like these obscure "pioneers", if solely for their contributions and influence. Success is not always considered (which is why phenomenal bands like Rush are often overlooked).
They still haven't chosen an Early Influence yet.
MY NOMINEES Glenn Miller- big band The Andrews Sisters- boogie woogie The McGuire Sisters- boogie woogie Louis Prima- jump blues Ella Fitzgerald- swing Cab Calloway- jump blues Tommy Johnson- delta blues Dave Brubeck- jazz Charlie Parker- jazz

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
If Radiohead hasn't already been inducted, they seriously need to be. They're the godfathers of modern alternative rock. But there's a surprising amount of great, influential bands that haven't been inducted, so it wouldn't surprise me.
