Topic: RIP Ryan Davis

Posts 1 to 11 of 11

The video game industry has lost one of its most infectious smiles and beloved personalities. Co-founder of Giant Bomb, Ryan Davis passed away on July 3rd. He was 34 and had been married less than a week. A cause of death has not been released.

“Obviously we’re all stunned over here,” wrote Matthew Rorie in Giant Bomb’s story about Ryan’s passing. “In the face of this awfulness, many of us will at least always remember him as we last saw him: outrageously, uproariously happy, looking forward to his next adventure with the biggest grin his face could hold.”

You will be missed, buddy...

I'm stunned. I've been listening to and watching these guys since early 2006, and as crazy as it sounds, you get to feel as if you really know them. Despite reading so many gaming websites, I honestly couldn't name many video game journalists, but these guys have so much personality and are so passionate, it's like having a chat with some really knowledgeable friends.

RIP, Ryan.

RIP Ryan
Giant Bomb wont be the same without you

I know it might be silly to feel this way towards someone I've never met, but after hearing hundreds of hours of Ryan's voice on the podcast it feels like losing a close friend. It's surreal knowing that he's gone, and that we'll never hear "Hey everyone it's Tuesday!" again.

RIP, Ryan "China Don't Care" Davis.

Whoa, what? That happened, just recently? Oh man.... I never knew or heard of Giant Bomb, but that is just a loss...

Even though I have beaten many of the games I'm still playing, I play them not to win, but to have fun.

RIP Ryan. You left behind a legacy, and Giant Bomb will never forget you.

RIP Ryan... This is a terrible loss, he seemed like a great guy and he was one of the few gaming journalists who wasn't a fraud.

Still in disbelief of this. SPent the whole night watching the various Twitch live streams in his honor.

R.I.P. Ryan Davis you'll be sorely missed.
