Topic: Return To Mars: A John Carter Discussion Thread

We've been there once via Mission To Mars and now Disney is taking us back to the mysterious and fascinating red planet in Andrew Stanton's visions of Edgar Rice Barrough's John Carter of Mars. John Carter is one of the most colorful, awe inspiring, powerful and intriguing journeys between the Earth and the Stars in all of Sci-Fi history.

It is nearly impossible to deny the impact that John Carter has had upon the heroes and figures of pop culture the world over such as Superman, James Cameron's Avatar, Star Wars and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

As the 100th Anniversary of John Carter arrives I plan on picking up the commemorative collectors issues of the comic John Carter A Princess of Mars from the now Disney owned Marvel Comics.

I'd simply like to get a discussion going in regards to John Carter of Mars. How do you plan to celebrate John Carter's 100th Anniversary in 2012?

Yes, actually I have done that already but I posted it here because I thought that maybe some of my fellow Nintendo gamers would be into something as old school classic and highly regardied as John Carter of Mars but now I suppose not. I didn't mean to be a pain in the butt though and so I'm sorry if I ticked you guys off with it.

You dont tick me off to be honest I dont pay attention to most of your threads cause I have no clue what you are talking about. As TBD most of the stuff you post isnt game related so not too many people who visit a gaming site dont know or care about that stuff. It would be like me posting about The Legend of Zeldas 25th anniversary and going on about Skyward Sword on a classic car forum.

I am glad that you enjoy the stuff you do TokyoRed but dont get mad when nobody shares the same interests you do especially on a forum that doesnt have anything to do with that interest. My advice if you want to talk about different interests join a couple different forums so that way you can talk to people who share all your interests. Like me for example I not only visit NL but I also visit an anime forum as well as a wrestling forum to discuss other interests I have that many dont get here.

Thanks for the kind advice Tasuki. I have joined a general discussion forum but I'm really interested in a science/physics/sci-fi forum but I haven't found a good one yet.

@TokyoRed: Np . Yeah it can be hard to find forums. Usually I just google them and than I read some threads to see what the community is like before I actually join. Start with some of your favorite sci-fi books or movies for example and see if they have forums and go from there maybe by poking around there you might hear of another forum to check out. Thats how I found a few other forums for interests other then video games.
