I go out at night and perform assassinations. It rakes in great cash and is a great stress reliever.

Jesus. (Yes I am a Christian). All I need to do is give my fears and worries to Him, and I feel at peace.

Jogging usually melts the stress away for me. If that fails there's always drinking or (on occasion) sparking a nice big doo....er, never mind.

I tend to try something creative, like drawing or composing music. Even if I mess up, I don't feel bad about it because creativity isn't something which has distinct rights and wrongs. Talking to people helps sometimes, but I sometimes analyse and critique myself after conversations and end up feeling a lot worse for tripping over my words a single time or something.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

A few months ago, I used to be addicted to video games, no, seriously. I would have to play at least 4 hours a day to feel calm, otherwise, I was REALLY grouchy.

I found a good way to relax and calm down was to just slowly breath outside, maybe sit in a pordh chair. The fresh air really helped me.

I'm proud to say I've cut down my video game time to less than an hour a day.

There are a lot of things out there you can try not all of them will work for you, but if you give a few a go your bound to find some that are useful, breathing exercises, body scanning meditation, visualisation meditation or just plain going for a walk, even changes in some other area of your life can have a knock on effect on your general well being; like improving diet, sleeping pattern and so on, might even find that you can get classes to help if need be.

@Nobodys_Angel: I suffer from anxiety disorders as well. I swallow 2 homeopathic pills and drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day. It doesn't help that much, but without them I would do a lot worse. I'd recommend giving it a go. They won't harm you in any way, so you've got nothing to lose.

If I'm stressed out, I usually go do one of my several hobbies (video games, programming, miniature painting - nerdy stuff like that )

Failing that, exercise is good, or I'll have a beer or several.

I usually have problems mostly when trying to get to sleep, on some nights I find it tough to switch my mind off - that's when the above really help.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

When I need to chil, I play some video games while listening to some liquid drum and bass.

I may sound cold doing this, but one of the things that @Metal_Sonic said is something I do. That possibly cold thing is isolating my self from other people. I usually get stressed when there is a LOT of people, especially with kids that are much younger than me. At a zoo I went too, in nocturnal section, there was a LOT of people. My mom said it was like a wall of people. I couldn't escape the trouble and I was getting angry in my mind, while I tried to physically control my anger. When I got out, (Sounds crazy for a guy) I almost cried. My mom told me to take deep breaths to calm self. I wanted to isolate myself. When there is a lot of people and noise, I start to stress and I may even have a meltdown. I want to isolate myself, like go to a nearby bathroom where I'm alone. My mom says (Once again) to take deep breaths for calming. Breath in with your nose and out with your mouth. I'm a guy who prefers peace and quiet, so I can't handle big parties or events where people can get lost or hurt, or cutting people, or too much noise.

To the people in this thread saying that people who feel stressed out simply shouldn't be because other people in the world are worse off, you clearly don't understand mental disorders and disabilities. Logically explaining away stress may work for you because you don't have anxiety/depression issues, but not everyone works the same way. People have brains that function differently. It's the same as telling a drug addict or alcoholic they should just stop because it's not good for them, and then expecting the addict to be like, "Oh wow, never thought of it that way before!" and immediately start functioning normally. There is more at play then simply /deciding/ not to be stressed out. The people suffering from these issues almost always KNOW it's not good for them, but they need to find an alternative way to approach them since simply deciding not to have the mental issue hasn't worked for them.

And that's probably why the guy made the thread, to get some suggestions.

Yeah, nearly everyone I know who has tried TM sticks with it because of its effectiveness. Some people quickly dismiss it because they think it's some Eastern religious thing, but for many (like me) it has nothing to do with religion. Merely a way to stay focused on priorities and alleviate stress.

I exercise, which keeps me in for the most part, a pleasant mood. Also, camomile tea is one of the best beverages ever, so I can have a cup or two and find myself relaxed, and or sleepy. Coffee also has a soothing effect on me, as long as it's good coffee, and it also helps me get through the day better than camomile. 'Cept I'm out of cream and milk at the moment, so I'm gonna go flip a few tables now.
