Topic: Reasons why you hate Sonic?

Ah, I'm beginning to think the reason why people hate Sonic, is because his games are glitchy (except Sega All-Stars, if that's possible).

I like Sonic, but I don't really play his games most. Mario games are the ones I enjoy the most. EDIT: Zelda games also.

Well, there's that and then there's also that most Sonic games since the 16-bit era have been terrible.

Reasons I hate Sonic... none, my fav 2D platform series of all time, don't hate Sonic at all, skipped most of the 3D stuff, but thought Adventures series and Rings where ok, handheld Sonic is still excellent.

I don't. 2D Sonic>2D Mario, in my opinion.

But the 3D stuff needs some effort put into it, I honestly don't think anyone is even trying.

I don't dislike the furry blue hedgehog. I like his games (the ones that I've played, anyway, haven't played all of them). Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the MegaDrive is my favorite.

It saddens me that Sonic is hated so much. People begged Sonic to return to the 2D series, but when Sega confirmed it, people said it was gonna be crap based on TWO SECONDS of Gameplay footage!

I like 16-bit 2D Sonic. All his other games me no likey. He never really had a A Link to the Past or Super Metroid moment where the existing formula in 2D was taken so far to the next level and then that was then done in 3D. It's just his first incarnations were stellar. Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles. But after that, he never did anything worthwhile, imo. Mario on the other hand continued to make good games, made the transition into 3D well, and now we have great games like New SMB and Mario Galaxy. Sonic does not have that, and it's even in the business of ripping off Nintendo's formula. Making a Sonic kart game, a Sonic party game, etc. And plus Sonic is, making out with humans and affecting a 90's cool that's no longer cool. It was better when Sonic was silent and in 2D tapping his toes.

Sonic 3D Blast is underrated.

I doubt that many people hate him. Personally, I'm not too familiar with him TBH and I don't think he had that "cute" factor that Mario characters do or the "cool" factor of Link or Samus. Not that interesting.

I don't hate the Blue Blur, it's just the 3D games that I don't like, expect for Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes.

SEGA and Sonic Team are throwing him some loose change and horrible games.

I only liked the Sonic Advance and Rush series, they were awesome.

Secret Rings was okay, Sonic Chronicles: the Dark Brotherhood was a fantastic RPG but SONIC 2006 and Unleashed sucked.

Hopefully Sonic the Hedgehog 4 can remedy everything because Sonic has a long way to go before he can be up there with Mario and other gaming greats again. He is great but he just fell from grace like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Pac-Man.

EDIT: I cannot hate Sonic, he's one of gaming's greats no doubt but he's just not in the right style of gaming. Why do you think Capcom kept Street Fighter 2D (SFIV is 2.5D, I know) and brought Mega Man back to its 8-bit roots? Mortal Kombat turned 3D and nearly plunged down the drain. Sonic suffered the same fate and going back to 2D (or at least 2.5D) is the way to go.

EDIT AGAIN: It's his sidekicks that are hogging the spotlight. Do you realize how much attention they draw away from Sonic himself?

I don't hate Sonic. I just hate the people who are making the games that star Sonic.

06 is horrible. I can make a glitch video by playing through it normally.

I don't hate sonic. I don't hate his games neither. to be honest, i think if you get passed all the glitches in sonic 360 it's a pretty decent game. i just hate how he makes out with human beings. i mean did rosalina have to KISS him to save his live. why couldn't she just have used the power of the emeralds to heal sonic. i am getting off topic here. sonic unleashed isn't that terrible and is actually great if you play the 360/PS3 versions. but don't play the wii and definately not the PS2 version. sega all stars was great, Black Knight was fun. they just need another DS sonic game or when the 3DS is released, a game for that. Can't forget a DSiWare sonic game too. that would be sweet.
The Character sonic i don't hate because no matter what, sega never let sonic lose his coolness. _{Even though he Made out a human being:(}

I don't like his new games in which you don't even play as him (Sonic Adventure, Sonic Unleashed), and the poorly controlling storybook games. He has great potential but unfortunately Sega doesn't know how to use it. Hopefully Sonic 4 will deliver.

He's uninteresting, annoying, an insult to gaming, and well yeah his friends are all this and more if you think about it.
I could go on.
