Topic: Rage Against The Machine at No.1

So....for all you that don't know or don't live in britain (or don't care) RATM are No1 in our music charts so our new Xmas song is Killing In the Name Of. How awesome is that? So what do you guys think about this? It was because of a facebook campaign that this happened in order to stop the latest talentless winner of the X factor claiming the top spot (as has happened for the past five years). Even better is that RATM are giving all the proceeds to charity. Cool eh. So democracy IS real.......well sort of.....

No I think it was just downloads which I think also makes it the first No1 just from downloads so an even greater achievment .Obviously it's not a very christmassy song but at least it's relinquished the stranglehold that the Crap-Factor had over the charts.
The xmas No1 always used to be a big thing when I was younger and people used to really look forward to finding out.Now all that we get is Crappy ballads or daft kids cartoon character song. Well F**k you I won't do what you tell me unless of course its to buy a RATM track then I'll gladly do what you tell me

I could never get into Rage. What's the fascination peeps have with them anyways?

I'm not much of a fan of their stuff, but their better than the X Factor. It's great that all of the money is going to charity!

Dont forget that Rage said they are going to throw a free concert in the UK next year, as a thank you to everybody that helped send them to No.1 for Christmas. Love RATM.

Ha! Xmas Rage Factor as I have been calling it.

This was the first time in years I actually turned the radio on at 6:50 on Sunday, intrigued as to what was gonna get No.1. What a relief it was, that another Factor/Idol cheesefest didn't get the coveted Christmas slot.

It's a bit naff though innit, I wonder what song they'll dredge up next year to oppose 'the machine'. I think it should be this....

I don't listen to much of their songs but I do know that one of their songs (Get On Your Knees) is a theme for WWE wrestler Jack Swagger.

They were much better once they jettisoned Zack de la Rocha, picked up frontman Chris Cornell, and became Audioslave.
