Well as someone who has yet to play the system (still kept a close eye on it though) all I can say is there are not enough games that could sway me away from my current PS3 or win me over the upcoming PS4/XBone. Like you said, I'm also concerned with what Ninty plans to do with the system. The Asymmetrical gameplay sounds intriguing but I have yet to see games outside of Ninty Land make that feature shine. Don't get me wrong, it's shaping up to be a great system for what it is especially for the 1st party titles and DL titles but as I said, I'm quite fine with my current console and have my eye on other next gen consoles. I'm very conservative with my console selection per gen (1 Handheld + 1 Home Console) so that way I'll be able to afford a decent library for both systems.
Ye. I don't currently own won but Nintendo half heartedly embracing online and not being prepared. They initially show much that intrested me but E3 was a step in the right direction. I'll buy one once wither Mario Kart or X comes out.
WAT!

At this point I remain neutral. They definitely had done some major screw-ups (clearly not having learned from the 3DS), but I believe the Wii U's fortunes will start to look up once the blockbuster titles finally start to stream in towards the holiday season. I hope so anyway...

Yes. Nintendo needed to make it competitively powerful to keep up with the Xbone and PS4 to keep the third parties happy. Unfortunately they have failed, and now we'll get a repeat of the last generation because of it, with Nintendo relying almost solely on first-party software. They will survive this generation, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U's successor comes quicker than it did for the Wii.

I'd like to believe that, too, but by then, the blockbuster games will be out for the other two consoles as well...
I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm glad I got one when I did, and I'm looking forward to the games that are coming out. On the other hand, as a day 1 buyer, I do not yet feel like my purchase was justified. They've barely released any games for it that interest me, and if they needed more time to get things ready- they should have taken that time.
This doesn't affect me personally, but I'm mostly disappointed with how Nintendo has handled the Wii U. The marketing job they're doing is trivial, I don't really know what Nintendo is thinking. The system has potential, they just are going about things in all the wrong ways.
At this point I definitely favor my 3DS over my Wii U. Though I still enjoy both to a certain extent. If Nintendo can turn the 3DS around, they can with the Wii U as well. I have faith in them, I'm just being critical of Nintendo because I'm such a loyal fan- and I want the company I support to make the right decisions.
Haven't tried it yet so can't say whether the machine itself is disappointing or not, the fact it launched with no games that really interested me enough to buy a whole new console to play in the first place is disappointing though, not a lot upcoming releases that interests me either, if I do get the wii u by the looks of it I'll be getting into that console later rather than sooner, plenty 3DS RPG's and other games to keep me going for a while I think plus I have steam for indie stuff too.
I'm not disappointed in the Wii U AT ALL. I mean, although I do understand the "not enough games" criticism, it makes me wonder, HOW MUCH DO YOU PEOPLE PLAY VIDEO GAMES? I got New Super Mario Bros. and Nintendo Land at launch. Played them for over a month. Then I got Scribblenauts, Zombi U, Batman, and Darksiders. Lasted a very long time, specifically until Injustice came out. Played Injustice for a long time, alternating occasionally to games I haven't yet completed (specifically Zombi U). Then Game and Wario came out. Also New Super Luigi. Still playing both of those. I haven't even had an opportunity to play half of the Virtual Console games that I purchased, and I'm worried that once new games come out I won't have an opportunity to play them which will result in a total waste of money.
I'm happy with my Wii U, and I have more than enough to play (it'll be too much to play once Pikmin comes around). I feel like I'm doing okay right now, but I'll be literally drowning in games by the holiday season.
No, I dont have one yet but I want one. The only thing disappointing is the3D Mario revealed. Hopefully Nintendo will reveal another 3D Mario this generation.
Yup. Not necessarily with the system, but with the fact that Nintendo haven't got any real first party support until 2014, and they haven't done a good job of getting third party games on the system, let alone exclusives.

I like what they've done with the system, I think the control scheme and power are both adequate. My tv isn't good enough to take advantage of super-HD anyway.
But like everyone else, there's not enough games and the ones which aren't available don't tickle my fancy much. Maybe it'll get better with time, I guess.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Well its nice to know that I am not the only one feeling how I do about the Wii U. Heck I have even been tempted to trade it in, but first I want to see if Nintendo can get things going.
Ok this question can be considered part of yesterday's question. I have to say great job in not turning the question into a flame war. Let's do the same here.
Question #439: What are your feelings about the PS4? Are you excited for it? Are you planning to get one?
Truthfully I am very excited about the PS4. I already preordered mine and I can't wait for it to be released.
