Have you guys seen the Price of Persia tailer yet? If now head on over to Trailer Addict and watch it in HD.

It actually looks good, and I am looking forward to watching it next year!

I am really divided on this one. On the one hand it does look good as an action adventure film.

On the other hand it seems to greatly lack the Arabian fantasy "feel" - some of the sets look good, but the actors don't remotely look like Persians or Arabians, and other sets look very generic - The thing that was great about Pirates of the Caribbean, for instance, was that it was a definate "pirate" film. For Prince of Persia to really work, it needs more Arabian Nights, less generic fantasy.

I haven't played any of the games but I have to admit the trailer wasn't as bad as I expected.

I love Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for the Gamecube, but I don't know if I want to go out and see this. The first 20 seconds of that clip looks really similar to the game, with the Sands of Time Dagger, Prince, and the town near the Palace, but the rest of the clip... almost nothing like the game.

At the 28 second mark, his arms start to glow and sand starts to come out. That doesn't happen when you use the Dagger in the game. I have never played the sequels myself, but you don't see anything like that until the next game.

At the 42 second mark, from what I remember, you never see that kind of weapon until the sequels.

With the rest of the clip, you never see the Prince go to any of those places. In the game, he is at the Palace about 98% of time. You also do not see any sand zombie’s/demons, which were a common enemy throughout the first game. Though, they did have the Prince do some of his cool acrobatic moves, and he seems to have a relationship with what appears to be a Princess like what they did in the first game.

From what I remember, before they showed any pictures, or clips about the movie, they said they would make it like the first game as much as possible, which doesn't seem to look like it here.

Sorry to nitpick, but to what has been happening to movies based off of games, you should understand why I'm really concerned.

It seems to create its own story based on the entire Sands of Time trilogy (Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Thrones). The beggining did look very SoT, but then you see the Prince in his leather armor that he wore in Warrior Within, and then you see him dodging the dagger tail, which didn't appear until Two Thrones... It seems like they are are taking the charcters (Prince, Farah, the Vizier) from the games and creating their own story... Whether it fits in with the storyline of the games remains to be seen.

i guess the plus of that would be not knowing exactly whats going to happen...my guess is it would just frustrate everyone who has played the games though haha

I'm just afraid that it will be really condensed and all those cool parts we just saw are practically the whole movie. I have seen this happen to so many movies it really ruins the experience. I want to see character development and lots of story elements along with all the awesome action. I haven't even read the Golden Compass, but I thought that movie was just really bad, and I'm afraid the same thing is gonna happen.
Sorry for the rant, but this movie looks awesome.

It was suppose to it's own story away from the games as we all what happens to movies that are based on video games. Crossing my fingers to have this one turn out good.

I cringed throughout the whole trailer, especially at the playful flirting between the Prince and that chick. Dya reckon they might kiss at the end? Gizza break.

they shouldn't try to make a movie off an epic game theres no actor out there that can mimic the prices acrobatic ability look how bad they ruined games with small story and gameplay like mario, tomb raider then they ruined games with good storys like resident evil and final fantasy. they shouldn't have hired the guy behind pirates of the carbine that was just done to try to cash on on the fans but i don't even think i can post my disappointment right
