Question....

How can I trade Pokemon from White 1 to Black 2 while only having one DS? Is there a cool unique way to do it, or do I need two DS' to do it?

Yup. You can do the Black 1 Black 2 Memory Link with only 1 DS, but you can't trade with only 1. That's pretty stupid.

You need two ds's to do the memory link, as far as I know.

Also, people seems to be slightly confused again: Yes they're sequels, but they're still contemporaneous to Black and White and work just like them in these regards (trading, battling, etc use exactly the same mechanics).

I'm getting a bit worried on what I'm reading (or I'm probably just reading in the wrong places), I'd like to get Victini for when I get Pokemon Black, but I'm aware that there was event for it (which has long ended), so is there any other way, or am I having to rely on an online trade?

It's not necessary though. If you connected Black or White to the Pokemon Global Link you're given the option to do the link by downloading the save file to Black or White 2 from there. The option is even called, using one DS. Or something close to that.
