Man, everyone uses Politoed now because of it's Hidden Ability. I remember when I was the only person that would train a Politoed on his team since D/P. Now it'll just look like I'm joining the drizzle craze. >:[ /non-realistic hipster rant

Welcome to the rain club! Rain teams are common and boring and predictable with Politoed. ~
Fixed. Rain teams done through other means are awesome though.
Ok, can someone PLEASE explain Pain Split to me?! I just don't get it. I understand it combines health then shares it blah blah blah, but what about the part where it might actually hurt you?
It combines both pokemon's HP and then gives each pokemon half of it.
If a pokemon is on the red and the other one has full hp, then the weak one will be healed and the healthy one will be damaged.
It has a lot to do with the HP of the pokemon. If you use it against a pokemon with a lot of HP then the effect is greater, you might end up fully healed.
Use it against a pokemon with low hp, and you might end up damaged yourself.
Example:
Pokemon 1 has 50 hp.
Pokemon 2 has 4 hp.
If pain split is used, then the HPs of both pokemon is set to (HP1+HP2)/2.
That means both pokemon will end up with 27 HP.
Bad for pokemon 1 but good for pokemon 2.
Now, imagine that Pokemon 1 is a chansey with 600 HP.
