This thread is to adress all the people who hate or love Pokemon. So let the war begin. My personal opinion is that I hate Pokemon now, but it does have a lot of historical importance in a lot of ways. But if you want we to explain why I currently hate it, I will explain, so like I said let the war begin!!

You put down a kid because he was 2 years younger than you, and then tried to act cool by saying pokemon sucks and you got rid of them all. You also implied that Pokemon was only for kids.

Alright if you wish for me to explain why I hate it currently I will. I liked the first games, before 2000 period. So I techniquelly in a way like it. But I hate it because It just is kind of a primitive system in a way compared to big RPG's like Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. The story is kind of unexistant, other than get everything and do everything it tells you to do. Plus I don't like how everyone justs adds more and more chracters until I fell like there are 10,000,000 million characters in all of the games. It is also milked extremely by Nintendo because of all the crapy spin-off games that have been made for the series. Plus the fact that each technical section of games happens to have what seems to be 2 almost completely the same games and then has an updated version. But I will say that it is historically important because it brought RPG's into many peoples lives including mine, I hust don't like it anymore.

I didn't put down sonicmaster, I just said that I didn't like Pokemon and in my perosnal opinion I guess that they suck and that he will probably stop liking them soon, everybody I know got rid of most of thier games. I guess adults like Pokemon, but I don't know any in particular right now. Yes I did get rid of them, but I don't know how that related to that exactly.

I'm 23 and buy every new rpg pokemon game. I have been since Blue, so since I was around 13ish. I'm not worried about the lack of a story in Pokemon either. It reminds me of simpler times, trying to "Catch 'em All!"

Thank You for not complaining Josh about my personal opinion and expressing your own opinion on this topic.

Pokemon GSC are amazing.
Pokemon RBY were amazing, but without Stadium to speed them up they've gotten slow and archaic.
Pokemon RSE were great but took more steps back than forwards.
Pokemon DP were slow lame games, although I hear Platinum isn't snail-paced and actually really good.

Corbs

I don't care for the Pokemon games personally.

Plain old gamer :)

Agreed.

I've always greeted the games with a big shrug. I guess I never really got into them when I was younger, and they're a little too cutesy for me today. However, I will say that they are better than most kid friendly titles you'll see around, so that has to be good for something.

Hey Corbie, did you delete Espoch's comment on calling me a %#$head?

SonicMaster

I like them, as esposch and supermarioman already know. They are great games, and I eagerly await the release of more. That is, if they are the normal RPGs.

Sonicmaster I didn't insult you, why are you agreeing with an insult to me? Because I don't like Pokemon?

I personally hate it, although I used to until about 6 months ago. I do love to see kids playing it because I reminds me one day they will probably be playing Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.

Those are exactly my thoughts, just thinking that the newer generations will almost be guaranteeded to play other great RPG's.

POKEMON RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been playing Pokemon since Red/Blue and I was like, what, 5 then? And, no, I wasn't born in 1993, I just got them later that's all. I played that game, I FELL IN LOVE! I went on to buy Gold, Ruby, LeafGreen, Pokemon XD, Pearl, and Platinum and I will buy many more, ESPECIALLY when Heart Gold and Soul Silver come out! The bottom line is, Pokemon is THE BEST
GAME EVER! And there isn't anything you can do about it! XP

I love the main Pokemon games. I will continue playing it even when the number of different individual Pokemon is in its thousands.

Not bothered about the spin-offs released after the N64.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Rock on Black & White. Diamond and Pearl were the series 'low' points. That's not to say I didn't enjoy them, but the lack of a significant postgame (I don't care for the Battle Tower, personally) and the hellishly slow pace of battles, walking and especially surfing made it a slog compared to others. Thankfully they brought the speed back up a bit with Platinum (though it's still considerably slower-paced than the Gen III games)
