The 2011 season of Pokemon will be the final season featuring Ash, the main protagonist since the start of the series. This may lead to the end of the anime that spawned out of the phenomenal success of the video games.

You know

But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

This is ridiculous. He's already in the first season of the Black/White saga in Japan, so he's obviously going to continue on for at least the full 3 or 4 seasons of that saga.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

It was when they switched over to Cartoon Network in 2006. Personally, I think Ash's newer voice suits him better than most of the characters, as it makes him sound a little older, which makes a lot of sense considering how long it has to have been (in Ash's world) since the show started.

Hey look, I can make ridiculous and baseless claims too!
Come back with some sauce and then maybe we'll talk.
Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Wait, does that also say... they're replacing him with Sabrina because she's hot?
...See, right there, post 14.

BWAHAHAHA! I knew it was true! About a year back I heard a rumor about this happening and how the anime would end, but no one believed me. It makes me wonder if the other rumors that I heard about the series are going to be true also....

@BulbasaurusRex: I disagree on the new voice being better; I'm not fond of Ash's laugh, since it sounds very half-assed when compared to his old one. Also, very little time—if any—has actually passed in the anime. In fact, the beginning of the most recent season states that he's still 10 years old (despite Ash and Pikachu having celebrated an anniversary in an earlier season)...

I didn't say it was better (on which I agree with you that it isn't). I said the change suits him better than the other changed voices do for their characters (Brock, May, Max, Jessie, James, Meowth, Prof. Oak, the narrator, etc.)
The anime has made no mention of Ash's age since the first episode, as I've seen every episode (other than the banned ones, of course). I would certainly remember if an episode only about 20 episodes back (the beginning of the season) had mentioned it. Between how long it logically takes to have all of his adventures, references made to shorter periods of time, and that anniversary you mentioned, it's clearly been at least a couple of years in anime time since the beginning of the series. If you meant the beginning of the Diamond/Pearl saga, I double-checked and only Dawn's age (10, of course) was mentioned.
