@arronishere: Well, yes. Some crappy trailers really turn out to be crappy movies, but I sure wouldn't want to miss out on a potentially good movie either though. I'm willing to sit through some bad movies in order to find some awesome ones.
Wonder how Matt Groening feels about the plot to Pixels being a rip off of a plot from Futurama.
The funny thing is, when it was on Futurama, It wasn't even a full episode. It was part of a three-part episode of shorts. Even the futurama writers understood that this idea doesn't even warrant a full episode, let alone a movie.
The thing about these HOLLYWOOD VIDEOGAME MOVIES ( like Wreck It Ralph, Final Fantasy: Spirits within ) is that they are trying to get the money from an consumer base that is unknown. Your basically throwing your money at the same people who do broadway plays like "Rent", and "Cats" or even "Mormons". It is an way for Hollywood/Theater to collect off people they do not like ( WHICH IS US ). They do not like us or love us. Why give money to them. I do not even want to see this stuff. The movie was not an bad idea and I will probably have it among my collection later on. But otherwise no.

Take Press Start. That should have been in movies with commercials. An biblical remake Of Press Start on the big screen would be an game changer. As I do love the original movie.
But the second movie. They are trying too hard, and they were living in the past. He took his online comic flash strip and attempt to go deeper with it. Which is why I could not watch it or want to see it anymore. It felt like he was just trying to suck away my money from me without giving an love to the audience.
Wreck-It Ralph was a great movie though and it sold well. It's getting a sequel.
And Final Fantasy: Spirits Within... wasn't terrible. It was perfectly acceptable B-movie sci-fi fare and quite a bit of fun. Shame that it cost so damn much to produce and single-handedly torpedoed Square Pictures though. Poor Sakaguchi. His movie was at least more coherent than Nomura's.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
@Ralizah, Actually, the reason Mario wasn't in Wreck-It Ralph was because they couldn't find the right way to use him. He could still appear in the sequel, though.
Personally thought this movie was great, but two things bothered me: this is set in 2012. YouTube gaming was a thing by then so why no reference to it? Wouldn't have minded seeing more recent games (not countin TLoU, though that was cool to see.)

I thought it was because Nintendo asked for too much money for him
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
@TeeJay Really? Hold on, I may have gotten it wrong...Okay. I've got one source saying it was too much money, and another saying it was because they couldn't find a significant way to use him. I am confused, now.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Didn't Futurama do an episode that was very similar, but with Space Invaders only?
It wasn't a movie, just an episode involving 3 mini-episodes. It involved Space Invaders, but also had Pac-Man along with some small cameos. (like DK, Mario, and I think his name is Q-Bert)
