Yeah, I think it'd look really good w/o any slants and with some fancy pixel art. Mind you, the color scheme would stay mostly the same, just 8bitified.
I'll start mocking it up some time tonight or tomorrow.
Hahaha. I'd actually like a few suggestions for a name for the game, if you have any. Something with "Lunar" in it would be kind of cool, since you'll see the moon throughout the game, and I may integrate it into the story.
@Adam: Awesome, that'll make the game much easier to program, as I've made a library in Python geared towards retro games. You're going to have full gamepad support.
@Odnetnin: Haha, thanks - but you posted your response in the quote!
@Brer: Awww. Do you get a "Loading..." screen? If so, just wait it out. Java's reeeeeeeeally slow at loading crap.
@SUPERZELDAMAN: Thanks! Well, making games in raw Java is extremely hard and hacky. First you have to know the language, then you have to learn its horrid media library (and then of course you have to know basic game logic). In fact, I don't think I'll be making another game in Java after this one - it's that bad. <3 Python.
