@pixelman: You're stuff is really really really cool, but that Nights picture I can't stop staring at. Never seen Paint squiggles put to such good use.
Yeah it's amazing. One of the best portraits I've seen come out of Paint.
The trick to good looking sprites is using color in a way that many things like eyes, hair and shadow and light effects are squeezed in as few pixels as possible. It's tough and trail and error seems to work best.
@ Super Pixel Man I think I found the Nintendo Life reference in your latest pic, but I'm not sure. Is there a reward for finding this one? Also, have you or will you make a game with any of this art work? It would assuredly be great.
Outrunner, I've never played Nights and don't really care to, but that looks really good!
How did you animate this guy? He's awesome. Your artwork is really inspiring me to try some of my own.
I drew three frames (one repeating, which makes four total) and then created a GIF animation using Gimp.

No reward for finding that easter egg. It's too obvious! And did you like your cake? I hope it didn't taste too pixelly!
And I am thinking of making an RPG using the latest pic's art. I have a cool battle system idea that I'm playing with, so we'll see.
Here's some... I d'no, 12bit art? It's very Ninjatown-y, as you can probably tell by the huts. Everything's much smaller though, since I was using a 16x16 grid instead of a 32x32. I had a lot of fun with this one, and I like the simple noiseless style. Took around an hour or two to draw.

If you made a real game that looked like this, I'd download it in a heartbeat.
Yup, I think it'd be fairly easy to make in Java. I don't like the ninja sprite much though. He'll probably be getting a revamp sometime today or tomorrow.
Well, I made a larger version with the same style. I upped the grid size to 24x24 pixels, which increases the amount of detail I can include. I think y'all will agree that the ninja looks a lot better. The redraw didn't take as long as the first one, but it still took around an hour or so of work.
