Oh hell yes, learn Python my friend. It's the best, most logical language in existence.
I'm only just now starting to get my hands dirty with C++. I'm not a fan of it, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Still, it's hard to overlook how powerful it is, and games built in it can be compiled across all platforms (if you use graphics libraries like OpenGL and SDL). I like it a bit more after using Objective-C for several months. (pointers and stuff make more sense now)
And you're correct. I am developing an iOS game right now. Not co-developing though -- this one's a one-man show. :3
Why are you making a game with a hybrid of Link nd Conker?
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
It's suppose to be a jumpsuit, and I didn't have conker in mind when we created him. Someone on the forum suggested a Squirrel. here's the concept art.
Damn, just found this thread via Zez's Backloggery. If I was on the PC I'd show you my Christmas Blaze Thumbnail Art I created but it's on my back up HDD. >_<
Oh, and I did it through Flash Professional CS3 which I don't have anymore...it's pretty good for a Photoshop/Paint hybrid if you are good with animation (I have some experience but I'm not prolific at it).
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I will not allow this thread to disappear into obscurity. This thread must live on! So anyways, I've been browsing through some discussions in some other forums some time ago, and I recently found some users' perception of the Zelda enemy Agahnim and many of them somehow intrepreted his sprite in a different way, that it made Agahnim's crown his face. I made a slight touch up on the original sprite and This is how he looks like:
hehe... It is really interesting to see the different perspectives of others and how they can interpret abstract designs differently. Also, I am laughing on how some of the other users think the green antena of Quote from Cave Story is his nose.
^ Pixel art is easier than it seems. All you need is a clear picture in mind and a painting software like MS Paint, Gimp, etc, and remember, practice makes perfect. I prefer Gimp using Gimp myself, it even can let you animate you creations like this little sprite I made on my spare time(inspired by the MS DOS games I played way back):
Another great one pix, look forward to seeing it in completion. Hey I remembered You said something about an iOS Project, it has been months now, would it be ok to give us a little detail on that? Could it be that game you posted above?
I hope to start on my iPhone game project next year. I have all the concept laid out. Just need to purchase the SDK, work with someone familiar with coding and be on the way.
Further plans: Get it on 3DS and Vita and make full use of what those systems offer.
Calling it "Project Pogo".
Don't want to give out it's real name now, but it pays tribute to Nintendo's most popular franchise
