Topic: Pixar vs Dreamworks

Pixar by a landslide. Pixar has more imagination and more moving storylines. Dreamworks just likes making extra bucks off the Shrek franchise (and making lots of fart jokes). Not to say Dreamworks is bad. Madagascar was hilarious, but I would take Up any day.

I loved Wall-E.
And I liked Cars too.

I think I have to give Pixar the upper hand as they were the pioneers back in the 90's with movies like Toy Story and they are still consistently good. I haven't seen all their movies but boy, how did they make a movie with cars as living, talking things so darn awesome? Only Pixar can pull that off.

I just watched the new 3D Shrek movie in theatre and I must say Dreamworks did a nice job, though. It was better than the last one. Rumpelstiltskin as an evil, slimy entrepeneur that sells wishes as if they were bad mortgages is a great idea.

Hmmm, Pixar slightly wins. I like Madagascar, Shrek, and Bee Movie, but Pixar has only really let us down once (A Bug's Life).

Pixar easily, though I did enjoy How To Train Your Dragon a lot more than Toy Story 3.

I think Ice age is Dreamworks, I liked the first one, the 2nd one was ok, didn't see the 3rd one.

Ice Age is from Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox. I only saw the first one, and I liked it.

Dreamworks just doesn't have the same quality of Pixar. The only Pixar movie I really hated was Cars. There's a few more than one film from DW that I hated...

WALL.E, UP, No matter what other movie you choose Pixar rules over all.

I'd say they're both even when it comes to movies I like and dislike. But... Dreamworks wins with me if they ever decide to do another Over The Hedge movie.

Edit: Pixar if they make another Ratatouille. :3

Pixar was my childhood.

I choose Dreamworks! ...not because I really like them better, not even close, but this thread is pretty pointless since anyone that can type a response will never pick Dreamworks over Pixar, that is, if they are of sound mind. So, leave it to sykotek to choose Dreamworks>Pixar, albeit entirely in pity. I did enjoy Over the Hedge when my friend pirated the movie back when it was first released and I think I watched every Shrek movie in theaters, I forget though, all I know is I got a DVD shelf with all the first print limited/collector's Pixar editions staring at me and ...1 DVD box set of Shrek from Dreamworks, that's it.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

There isn't a debate. Dreamworks makes movies. Pixar makes films--beautiful, touching, emotionally complex ones at that. As far as I'm concerned, Dreamworks have only made two movies that can be considered classics--Shrek and How to Train Your Dragon.
