I'm so sick of hearing about things like this. I recently read about a teenager who shot his parents. killing his mom, supposedly over the Videogame Halo 3. Sounds like a spoiled brat, with anger management problems, who's a bit screwed up in the first place.
I read this origionally off of the Wii News Channel and it was suggested there by someone something like, he might not have realized that unlike in videogames that in reality death is permanent. Come'on! Denial much? Of course he knew! He's a teenager. It's not like he was a 2 year old.
People really need to take responsibilty for their actions and others need to quit making excuses for these individual who do these horrible things.
This has to go much deeper than not being able to play a videogames.
I agree, nobody should apply events in video games to real life. Also, the Halo series should be banned,it sucks anyway. I read a story that there was this boy who have a Xbox 360 and played it all the time. His parents took it away from him,and the boy lost it. He ran away from home, and they found him dead later on. Sad,isn't it?
@LTG Agreed If you start suggesting, video-games cause violent behaviour, then you have to accept that movies, tv, music, internet are all as much to blame, perhaps even more. I think I knew from quite a young age that killing is unforgivable, and I knew (and know) it's something I would never willingly do. There is no excuse for killing another, you're just evil and your perception of reality is twisted somehow, regardless of any media influences others might be quick to blame.
Well, I think parents should take responsiblity and pay attention to what their children are allowed to experience in the first place. They should check ratings on these thing. Plus, I think some parents need to work on giving their children a sense of morality, self control and empathy for others.

I agree but their are some kids out there that no matter how much attention, disipline, advice you give them, they always end up rotten. But I would say this is the latter of most cases.

Please, I grew up watching Tom & Jerry beat the living crap out of each other, burn alive, get skinned, lose limbs, have their heads chopped off, eat bombs, get flattened by steamrollers, fall out windows, impale themsleves on all sorts of sharp objects, drown, get electrocuted, frozen solid, and pretty much every other possible death and some not so possible. Still the best 'toon out there!

@Vendetta - You sure that wasn't Itchy and Scratchy?
@Locke Cole - I think we'd get less of this if more people were more careful raising their Children and paid more attention to what their kids were doing. They should taught better way's to deal with their emotions and to think about the consequences of their actions before acting on them.
Edit - Regardless of this, in the end, he's the one who chose to do this and he needs to face the Consequences it.
@Locke, no I never saw the movie. Was it as entertainingly violent as the old school cartoons? PS: Nice sig.... Hudson. @Longtime, nah man - Itchy and Scratchy were just a parody of Tom & Jerry.
Tom & Jerry is is like twice as hysterical now. First because it's just funny to see what goes on, and second because I'm like "wow, I can't believe they got away with this!"
I've heard of a person getting trampled when a Walmart was opening on Black Friday. So it's not just about videogames either. I can't believe some of the things that happen all the time like this. Like women taking kids from their mothers BEFORE they're born! I'm certain I never saw anything like THAT in video games, so what's society's excuss for that?
@Mainin - Yea. people who have guns in their family should REALLY be careful. This kids father was a pasture. What the heck was HE doing with a pistol anyways?
(Edit) @Mainin - Agreed. (I misread your last comment. I just realized that you had agreed with me. Sorry)
I think this is what wrong with people in this world today. EXCUSES. This kid shoots this kid (enter EXCUSE) because of Halo 3. When in reality the kid is a freaking little punk with prob crap parents. This is what happens when kids can now call the cops and actually get the parents arested and put in jail and loose custody of them when the parents were just applying discipline to the kid. Its not the damn games.....Its whats become of the world we live in. And the fact that Excuses now get people what they want. Crap when I was a kid and if I told my Dad I was calling the cops on him he would prob tell me have fun with that because by the time they get here Ill wear your butt out so bad you will have a smile on your face when they get here. LOL.

@Slapshot82- Yea. I told my 5 yr old niece when she's being sassy to adults in the family (like one of her parents) that she's lucky cause if my brothers and I had talked back to our parents (when we were kids) we were probably would have gotten our butts whipped.
