With skyward sword I only really hate rolling the bombs. Because it requires this weird hand motion that's hard to do when you're in any other position besides sitting striaght or standing up.

Also bokoblins are jerks, with their "Imma gonna block your sword" schtick.

Yeah I don’t know either.

I don't hate TP's motion control and I agree with people saying that it's a a billion times better than SS's motion controls. Either way, I still prefer controller support. When I played BOTW and was aiming with a bow and motion support was on as default, I was so pissed just to realised after that you can actually change it. There were shrines that does this but at least it's just a small part of the game and not many of em'

@noobish_hat Hahahahahahahaha. You are SO wrong there. Double Dash, DS, and 7 are loved while most people find 64, Super Circuit, and Super Mario Kart to be the weakest installments. (Not saying your opinion is wrong, just that VERY few people would share the same thoughts)

@Snaplocket
What? I've found most people love SMK and 64 the most (although a lot of love for DD as well to be fair). Do people love MK DS? Maybe they claim to, but I have a really hard time imagining people actually replaying that over any of the others. Bit of a pet peeve of mine, people waxing lyrical about old games they never replay after that first time.

From what I've heard, a lot of people really like DS and are specially fond of the single player campaign.

Yeah I don’t know either.

@noobish_hat I thought Mario Kart DS was very good and I have never heard anyone say otherwise. It had mission mode too which I still want to make its return. I was a bit disappointed in Mario Kart 7 when I first got it but it's fun with friends. It has download play so others don't even have to own the game as long as they have a 3DS. I don't really see a reason to go back to any of the earlier Mario Kart games since they tend to have retro courses.

I programmed a simple tool that copies all Switch screenshots from an SD card and places them to folders according to the game:

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE The game's Miiverse Community was so full of complaints about the localization changes, it was embarrassing to read through. Meanwhile, I just enjoyed the game the way it was.

@Matty2310 I agree, the reason why I don't mention games like Pokemon Y, 3d World, Fates, or Brawl is because the general consensus from MOST people (as in, not the vocal minority) is that they're great games that sold really well, despite frequently getting lambasted by the super hardcore slice of gamers. That said, there's nothing wrong with believing these games to be overhated if you think that's the case. If anything, people that say most people don't like those games or don't think there anything special when that's blatantly not true annoys me FAR more then those who simply think they're overrated.

Yeah I see what you mean. I've never played Metroid: Other M but I do see fair bit of hate going it's way so there is a case to say a game like that is overhated (not gonna comment because I've never played it).

I enjoyed playing Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, really. I'm sure most people who played them do too. I could say they're overhated but I'd be overlooking all the people who love the game (but there's no problem thinking some of the criticisms and hate a game gets is ridiculous). I tend to enjoy Zelda games for what they are really.

I enjoyed Skyward Sword enough to play it through twice (Normal and Hero Mode), though I did have more free time then. I also enjoyed Twilight Princess (Wii) and hope to get to the Wii U version in a few months. Quite frankly, I'd say my least favorite Zelda games at this point are Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Tri Force Heroes, but that's not to say that they're bad games.

A new one for the list (can't remember if it's been mentioned already):

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate - To be fair, I only played the demo of this one, but I did enjoy that demo and still regret not getting this game. Unfortunately, my funding at the time was a little tight and choices had to be made. I recall that it got a really polarized reception, though some of the hate there may be due to how the rest of the rebooted series was received.

Payday 2. That seems to be the most recent "everyone pile on, hate and absolutely do not buy" game, completely irrespective of whether or not it's actually a good game and worth the investment.

To be honest I haven't played it yet, but just watching gameplay videos it looks pretty good and the amount of heat it's received is just mind-boggling.

I was bored to tears by Mirror of Fate and didn't get very far in it. I was SO worried about Samus Returns when I heard these chumps were at the helm. Thankfully, it turned out pretty great! You didn't miss much with Mirror of Fate though.

@Gaisaph Definitely have to agree about 358/2 Days. It's mission structure can get repetitive but the multiplayer as well as how they fleshed out Roxas, Axel, and Xion makes it a KH story that I really like. I also very much enjoyed the leveling system.

So zetta slow!

Many of the games that have been reviewed by AVGN are wayyyy overhated:

-TMNT: I have never understood the exaggerated hatred for this game! Yeah, the seaweed level is tough, but it isn't impossible! Get through it, replenish your lost health in the next level. Do I think that it's a great game? Well.....yeah, actually! It has all of the hallmarks of a great game: it controls well, looks good, has fantastic music, is challenging (sometimes excessively so), and the boss fights are great!

-Friday the 13th (NES): Another game that receives way too much flak! I've always thought that this game was actually ahead of it's time! It doesn't follow a traditional level structure, and it had atmosphere for miles (by 1989 standards, at least). It's another game that controls well and, once you figure out how to fight Jason, it's a decent amount of fun. It has it's flaws, but to disregard it as a BAD game, or even one of the worst, is laughable.

-Fester's Quest (NES): Another game that has developed an unfairly poor reputation, most likely by people who follow AVGN as a legit gaming source. It's challenging, but very fun and unique.

-Deja Vu (NES): This is widely regarded as the worst of the MacAdventure games, but I've never understood why. It has a really cool story, and it's really cool piecing everything together!

Well to be fair, part of the AVGN's shtick was that he'd overrexaggerate and focus namely on the bad things. Same with Zero Punctuation. I thought it was really funny while in middle school but I've grown out of it. Now when I hear something getting bashed, it's in a more serious tone.

@Snaplocket The dam level in TMNT used to give me trouble a couple times, but now it's pretty easy. The last stage on the other hand is still the bane of my existence. The last section before Shredder is enough to drive anyone insane; I was only able to beat it twice.

Final Fantasy XIII - Now that I'm about 7 hours in, I can safely say this is a good game that got WAY more hate then it deserved. A great game? Not far enough in to decide but it clearly has a ton of effort in it. I like the story and characters. Really like the soundtrack. Not to mention the combat is actually a lot of fun once you get magic and paradigms. That said, some of the complaints like the linearity and ridiculous amount of tutorials ARE justified and you can definitely tell this game went through a lot of trouble in development. The most blatant sign for me is when CGI cut-scenes, as awesome as they look, seem to come out of nowhere.

Don't understand the hate for Skyward Sword's motion controls - they worked like a charm and never failed on me. In my opinion, it added a lot to the immersion. It is my favorite pre-Breath of the Wild Zelda game, mostly due to its control scheme and the art style.

I don't think Skyward Sword's controls are perfect but saying they don't work well in general just factually contradicts my playtime with it. I've never understood it, it is just a fundamental contradiction to what I experienced on a basic, almost non-subjective level.
