Okamiden: Worthy sequel of Okami. Not as good as the first one, but really close and even better in some aspects like the boss battles. The thing is on th DS and somehow it managed to deliver the same quality that it's predecessor had, and much better than any Zelda game on DS and even the ones on 3DS (IMO).

Metroid Prime Federation Force: Game that had the gameplay of the Prime games while having a new direction focused on missions and squad gampelay while also having a good single player experience in case you didn't have anyone to play with. Considered a game that shouldn't be "Metroid", I disagree since using Samus or having an open world focused on single player as mandatory to explore was something made up by fans hating on the game. It simply expanded the Metroid universe in a fresh different way, while keeping familiar elements and it also showed that Samus wasn't the only one having action. In my opinion, it's only considerable problem was the art direction.

Mass Effect Andromeda: Massive hate for a game that while it wasn't as good as the original trilogy in terms of story, it delivered better gameplay with much more fun powers and deeper customization. Considering that it was the first entry of the story (which would be the fair thing to do), it delivered a better experience than the first game of the original trilogy.

Megman ZX Advent: More than anything, people simply don't know of it's existence but still, I see hate against it for having protagonists that weren't Megaman or Zero. The story isn't the best, but I never considered the Megaman games to have a great story in the first place. The gameplay is wesome though, since it offered open world exploration and the ability to transform into the boss you defeated, not only giving you their power but also their apperance and different attack combinations, making it better than Megaman Zero in terms of gameplay (IMO).

Fire Emblem Fates: Game hated for having the same mistakes that most FE games had ( for me most had a decent at best story, same with the characters) while also offering the most balanced experience between the mew mechanics introduced in Awakening and a game with a better average difficulty since most broken aspects of it's predecessor were corrected and improved. Better gameplay, many cliché characters (just as the past games as much hate as I get) but likeable and with more interactions, better graphics, mostly good maps, great soundtrack and tons of content made it my favourite FE game to date.

Another unpopular opinion: I think that Corrin was pretty much as good as most protagonists and didn't have problems with him, and I also think that Conquest was far superior than Birthright, even in story most of the times.

I strongly disagree with this, and ignoring anything else, the fact that a fan could make a glorified Zero Mission-like Metroid is an incredible achievement.

Phantom Hourglass - The temple of the ocean king was definitely annoying but everything else in this game was brilliant.

Final Fantasy 8 - Very few people seem to have good memories of this 20 years later. It's story is silly nonsense but it is an incredibly solid game for the most part. Great world, graphics and gameplay. And the ballroom scene is timeless.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 - At a metacritic score of 75, this is one of the lowest scored in the series. I really have no idea why. I thought it was completely brilliant. Probably my third favourite in the whole series after RE4 and RE2.

Star Fox Zero - Once you manage to get over the control issues, this is a really great game. If you just look at the main screen 95% of the time, it works great.

Super Mario Sunshine. Most of the criticisms tend to come from people who want the game to be a linear platformer, as a sandbox platformer it's one of the best since FLUDD opens up the potential for tons of creative platforming tricks. The only major flaw I would say is the Blue Coins.

Also Sonic 06. It definitely has glitches, but you rarely find anything game breaking.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Yeah, it's really different compared to the GBA and DS Castlevania Games, but i liked the Gameplay changes and it's one of my favorite Castlevania Games. Makes me really sad that so many people call this Game an abomination.

I think a lot of gamers don't like these games that i have interest about.

1. 1-2-Switch
Come on ! It's not really bad for Minigames compilation. I'm addicted with Telephone minigames after i bought last Sunday.

2. FF VIII
I think FF VIII was the Best FF in my opinion. Maybe not the Best in Storyline, but the gameplay was Interesting and Challenging enough. I miss the Simple and Modern outfits from FF VIII. They are so Classy, Elegant, Simple, Pleasant to watch.

3. Miitopia
A lot of RPG gamers dislike this game due to Uncontrolable other characters, but that gave the reason why was Miitopia so different with typical RPG games. I LOVE the Cuteness, Quirkiness and Craziness from Miitopia. Also, Miitopia has so many Great OST.

For the most part I really like Mirror of fate, it is much better than the other Lord of Shadows games (other Lord of Shadows games are not even barely average in my opinion), Mirror of fate could have been great but it is badly damaged by the way its story is told. First of all is a rather stereotyped and trivial plot, it was not necessary to put so much focus into it, a more straightforward way to tell that story would havew been much better, and it also BADLY damages gameplay since in the game there is an upgrade system that don't make sense at all since the game is split up into three different parts with three different characters... I like it a lot but at the same time it is so unbelievably flawed. The first time I played it I thought it was terrible. Then I tried playing it again and this time I was able to appreciated all the many things it does right, but unfortunately those many good things are affected by a few stupid and horrible design choices.

I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee

Just Dance games. I have been buying them annually for about 5 years now. I know most gamers aren't fans but I love these games. Always fun playing with friends and family.

I agree with Other M. I thought it was a very good game. It laid solid foundations for a sequel. It made some mistakes, I've and we've been over them countless times before.

Skyward Sword on the other hand deserves all the hate in the world. A truly bad and lazy Zelda game. I didn't like it at all, it had nothing to do with the motion controls but with practically everything else about it.

Mario 3D Land. It didn't do a lot of new things but it was very nice for what it was. The controls were really precise and there were some great post game levels.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror gets some criticism for having a confusing layout but I don't think it was that bad. The map could have been better, yes. But once you enter the mirrors that link to the main hub, it gets much easier to find the mirror shards.

@MisterPi I'm totally with you regarding Skyward Sword - loved it from start to finish! I'd probably rate it as my third favourite Zelda game - just behind Ocarina of Time (the best) and Breath of the Wild (a modern classic) - simply one of the best games I've ever played!

Many of the games that have been reviewed by AVGN are wayyyy overhated:

-TMNT: I have never understood the exaggerated hatred for this game! Yeah, the seaweed level is tough, but it isn't impossible! Get through it, replenish your lost health in the next level. Do I think that it's a great game? Well.....yeah, actually! It has all of the hallmarks of a great game: it controls well, looks good, has fantastic music, is challenging (sometimes excessively so), and the boss fights are great!

-Friday the 13th (NES): Another game that receives way too much flak! I've always thought that this game was actually ahead of it's time! It doesn't follow a traditional level structure, and it had atmosphere for miles (by 1989 standards, at least). It's another game that controls well and, once you figure out how to fight Jason, it's a decent amount of fun. It has it's flaws, but to disregard it as a BAD game, or even one of the worst, is laughable.

-Fester's Quest (NES): Another game that has developed an unfairly poor reputation, most likely by people who follow AVGN as a legit gaming source. It's challenging, but very fun and unique.

-Deja Vu (NES): This is widely regarded as the worst of the MacAdventure games, but I've never understood why. It has a really cool story, and it's really cool piecing everything together!

I guess I'll be mostly repeating stuff.

Fire Emblem Fates
It probably wasn't the best idea to split it into three games but other than that I enjoyed it. Not as good as Awakening but not nearly as bad as people say it is.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Temple of Ocean King is annoying but other than that, it's good. The touch controls work great and Linebeck is awesome.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
I admit I haven't beaten this one. There are certain things I don't like and I find it a bit boring at times but it has fun characters (other than Fi), nice visuals and the motion controls work great. It's not as great as most of the Zelda games but it's not a bad game.

Just Dance
I don't know why everyone has the need to say they hate these games whenever NL has news/reviews of them. Just Dance is not meant to be your next hardcore gaming purchase. I've been thinking of getting one for myself lately. Maybe it would help me lose a bit of weight.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE
Is it Shin Megami Tensei? No. Is it Fire Emblem. No? Is is a fun and unique RPG? Yes. Seriously one of the best games on Wii U but it gets hate for being different from what people were expecting. And add all the censorship backlash in the mix. The main thing that kind of irritates me with these censorship things is that people wouldn't even notice it if they didn't have the access to internet and learn these things in advance. Are people angry because Nintendo decided to release an entirely different game as Super Mario Bros. 2? No. Because they didn't know any better and once they played the game, they liked it so much that they didn't care once they found out about it.

It's its, not it's.

@Late the Just Dance games are great fun. Like you said they aren't a hardcore gaming experience but are a blast with friends or at a party. Also they can be a great way to work out with the sweat mode. My wife actually uses it in the mornings to work out when she doesn't feel like running in the cold. You can definitely work up a good sweat in no time!

Batman Arkham Origins - universally panned for being a stopgap, I thought it was the best in the original trilogy. Better story, better open world structure, better everything.

Fallout 3 - when this game was released, it was considered phenomenal. Then the invasion of the nerds happened, and all of a sudden it was considered a videogame for people with low I.Q. Then New Vegas came out and all the nerds went "See? That's what smart people play, cos you can make real choices in this game!!". As it stands, Fallout 3 is a very good action game, Fallout New Vegas is a bad sci-fi book.

Shenmue - it's not just about talking to sailors. And it's not GTA. Not Harvest Moon either. It's its own thing. And if you don't get it, then you don't deserve it.

Space Giraffe - strongly criticised for its trippy visuals, I thought it was one of the greatest and purest videogames I ever played, and if I had to pick 10 desert island games, this would be the space shooter I want to play for eternity.

There have to be more but can't think of any at the moment. This is a hobby where people tend to overlove rather than overhate anyway.

@Knighty_IX Your criticism is quite fair mate. You are right about Megaman Zero having a better story, since even if the ZX games were left on a cliffhanger, the Zero games were solid in that aspect since the first entry. The awful voice acting didn't help too haha.

I do think that the open world made the game better, but I definitely see why Megaman ZX left you a sour taste haha. More than anything, I always enjoyed that Megaman Zero had a similar aspect (if I remind correctly, or maybe it was one of the sequels) and I really wanted to see more open world exploration return, and when I also found out that you could actually get the armors and power (and not just a small bit of it) I was pretty much sold out since that was something I wanted to have since I played Megaman X and saw how awesome Storm Eagle looked.

I also agree about the transformation being better in ZX since I actually liked more the idea of getting the armor combined than turning completely into the enemy you just defeated, but I did enjoy the idea of having way more transformations than in the last game and more of them were quite fun to try in different misions. Some of them are quite limited in movement though.

If they would have implemented the idea of getting the armor adjusted to the main character's movement to give him more mobility instead of limiting it with some models, it would have been perfect for me. Fortunately, at least the original biometals ( H,F,L and P if I remember correctly) did offer good mobility and different abiities, but they definitely had room to improve. H and P not so much, they were pretty much perfect for me the way they were made haha.

Other M, ME: A (It was fine for what it was) , The ENDING of ME3 (the series had more problems, LONG before you beat 3).

Agreed with @spizzamarozzi on the Fallout 3 hate. No it wasn't interplay's fallout but it wasn't bad for resurrecting a game franchise and slapping a whole new genre on it. (Didn't like 4 though)

Edit: Agreed with all the people saying NintendoLand. I was sold my wiiu by Nintendoland and I still play it on the regular (If the afterlife was real...that's where I want to go).
