Topic: Our Game Won't Work Because...

So here is a cute idea.

Think of an excuse for why a game won't come to Nintendo Switch.

It can be real or fake, and for bonus fun try and guess if it is or not.

"We cant do it because its a portable and as such we cant guarantee it is always online"

Because the Wii U is doomed.

Did...did anyone actually say that? I mean if someone said that about Switch theyd probably lose their job in record time.

Host: "And what about Nintendo Switch?"

Dev: "We wont put it on Wii U because the Wii U will fail"

Host: "I said...Switch."

Dev: "A what? I only know Wii U (Ironically)"

I wont hold my breath but who knows. When a factually incorrect lack of buttons is an excuse...

But was my statement in the first post true? Consider Switch is getting DQX the MMO.

Blizzard can see the future and has decided that Nintendo will not have proper online voice chat as another reason not to bring Overwatch to the Switch.

Our Game Won't Work Because...

a) game cartridge can't move while playing and with Switch portability we can't guarantee that, since you might move around with the console. It doesn't matter if the cartridge doesn't move inside the machine, it's still moving.

b) our game has too many vexels and teraflops and the draw distance is over 770 miles, which is the greatest draw distance for any game about snooker ever.

c) we designed the game for PS4 and XBone and so we put it on discs. You can't fit disks inside Switch.

Because Sony bribed some 3rd party developers to NOT put their games on Switch. Dirty play, very shame.

"We can't bring our game to the Switch because it's a game targeted at kids, and the hybrid nature of the Switch might confuse young players."

We can't put our game on the Switch because it won't be able to handle all the rats on screen. We barely have it working up to our standards on the pro and one x with the rats we already have.

4K is the future. Nobody wants to play games in 1080p anymore.

"Our vision for our game is on a 40" TV minimum."

Nintendo isn't edgey enough to house our ultra cool game. It's a kids console not a modern gaming platform.

"We can't bring our game to Switch because Miyamoto didn't show up to our Christmas party."

"Our game won't go to Switch because Nintendo won't pay us to port it and let us have all profit made and market it for us as well. "

"Our game won't go to Switch because we didn't envision it there...nothing wrong with the system...we just didn't dream of being Nintendo devs when we grew up."

We won't bring our game to Switch because we don't want to catch "crabs".

@Fooligan That one actually happened. They are honest but should probably also make concessions if their vision is too much even for those machines.

@landlord14 Thats probably a reason. Doesnt everyone on PC get told it has Discord integration anyway?

@BLP_Software Honestly the second feels like what a lot of the smaller devs are getting at. That's how you get the "not enough buttons" comments...they don't even research possible avenues of revenue. I need a drink. Anybody got a root beer?

@Ryu_Niiyama I dont think a smaller dev could really argue unless they go REALLY high end performance.

Our game isn't coming to the switch because we've been developing it for three years and the Switch is only just become a thing. We were offered a dev kit just before launch but turned them down as we assumed it would tank. Live and learn!

@BigBadJohn Thats a valid reason. Until the end at which point thats just a dumb move for any business.

@Ryu_Niiyama The MMO line is reminiscent of Destiny 2 and its not always online . Mario vision is just....stereotyping. Thats also probably gonna happen.
