My only encounter with One Piece is via Jump Super/Ultimate Stars on DS. But that was awesome so I'm all for this thread. I would recommend everyone to import Ultimate Stars for DS. Smash Bros + the Shonen Jump universe = WIN.

The new-look metacritic has drop the reviews of it for some reason, maybe because they were all import reviews, but it scored very highly - in the 90s I seem to remember. Today, we reached episode 29 or something of that number in which Luffy recruits an italian named Sanji to be his cook. I also began reading the One Piece manga in earnest (volume 8 as of today) and I plan to buy some One Piece merchandise this Christmas.
I sure hope we'll see a few One Piece games on the 3DS in the coming years and hopefully an official One Piece MMORPG. I think One Piece needs a lot more publicity in the United States as it seems to be underrated and under-acknowledged in this nation.

I'm currently in the Skypiea arc (which is kinda annoying for me as I saw the exact same version (well except with edits) on tv before Cartoon Network screwed anime).
I saw the original version up to episode 325 or so and am rewatching via dvds.
Most of you are on the early parts.

My Missus absolutely loves One Piece, one of her favourite Mangas, but it's not one I've really read myself.
@Link-Hero, I never did watch the 4kids version although I was aware that it was tampered with quite badly. The first time I watched One Piece was when Cartoon Network aired their dubb and I enjoyed it. I appreciated the replacement of "ass-hole", "bitch" and "shit" because as a Christian that is just plain wrong, especially in a program that is bound to have viewers below the age of twelve. Seriously, it's also unnecessary as profanity is just a downright waste of breath, words and a horrible use of the "kings english" lol.
Anyway, I don't really like 4kids anyway or anything of that nature. I thought it was a botched up and ridiculous waste of television airing space. I think we're quite fine with The CW, Cartoon Network, TNT, Disney XD (boy, do I miss Jetix), Nickelodeon, BBC America, SyFy Channel, Starz, History Channel, abc Family and TBS. All of this new stuff like "The Hub" and "kidsdomain", the rumored Hasbro television channel and all of this "teen/ tween/ young adult" mess is being petitioned on internet forums for television is not needed in my humble opinion. Television should be for everyone and not one particular group. Youth are already obsessed with themselves as it is. On the contrary; I'd back a Shonen Jump television channel in a heartbeat.
@WaltzElf, I'm happy your wife (I gather from "Missus") enjoys One Piece. I'm having a terrible time finding young women who appreciate manga as most of the ones I meet think that geeky culture and otaku fandom is nothing more than a guy thing. Females seem to prefer HGTV and Better Homes and Garden magazines as opposed to Shonen Jump and Comic Con. Good merciful greatness! I've only met one young woman at GameStop who enjoys some of the manga life but not much more than that.
Anyway, I plan to keep on reading the One Piece Manga at the local Books A Million and I'm going to try and encourage the management to get in a collection of the two Kingdom Hearts manga series as they don't seem to be up on the tokyopop mangas.

EDIT: then again, the Japanese version is full of cussing and blood. I'm not sure if you'd like it much. I don't like having oceans of blood in my shows, or extensive cussing.
