Well, I said it and meant it - that if I were subjected to one of those awful, awful talking ads here on Nintendo Life, that I would be gone for a month. And, like, oh my God, no waaaay... it just happened!
Perhaps I was lucky to have gone for so long without getting one these unacceptably offensive ads. Usually I just got a huge pair of jugs in my face and something about a game called Evony. Unsophisticated? Perhaps. But not offensive, per se - and certainly not unacceptably so.
So ciao for now, fellow NLifers. It's probably for the best, honestly. (EDITED for clarity: The real reason though is that) I've been neglecting some things off-site that I should get to anyhow. Some will consider this good riddance, to be sure - and that's ok. Enjoy it while it lasts. And to my friends out there, Daz, Corb, Sean, CB and the rest - you know how to reach me should you need anything, or in the event you get this noisy ad thing cleared up 'ere my sabbatical is through.
Cheers all. See you next month. Ave atque vale, -V
@Vendetta - We're happy to wok with our ad partner to block the most annoying ads. There's no need to be hasty and leave. If you have any concerns please use our contact form to let us know about it. If you could also take a screenshot that would be helpful too.
@Vendetta Well, if you were planning on taking off for a bit anyway, best of luck. I wouldn't leave just because of the ads (as annoying as they are), though. Honestly, the talking ads and the fake virus scans are the only ones that really get under my skin. @Blaze Really? I use the same and they still sometimes get through.

Hiya, Dazza. I had to come back and reply to your post... As much as I hate the talking ads - the problem is really your site. You see, it's soooo freaking addicting that I've been neglecting this stack of work that's been growing on my desk.
I have this OCD-type need to check the forums incessantly, and read the news and kick-ass reviews. I simply don't possess the discipline to restrain myself! The talking ad was just a playful excuse, don't take it the wrong way.
So Chatham got it right with his "OMG! No Way!" post. This was kinda tongue-in-cheek.
No more talking ads would be a good thing, though.

I always get it right. And yea, there are ways to disable media-ads. Now if only we could get that ad to show every time you entered this thread... That would be ROFL-sauce!
@Swiket: There's one that promotes a bunch of free emoticons and a cartoonish voice says "oh my God, no waaay!" It obnoxious.
NLife offers us an incredible value in entertainment with the forum community, saved money by exposing crapware in professional reviews, and excitement in previewing upcoming games. I've got nothing against them making a buck on ad sales. I won't install an ad blocker because if they serve up an ad I'm interested I'll click it and give them the referral revenue. In my opinion, that's just good 'netizenship. But boy do I hate noisy ads.

Very creative! I hear HR is looking for sinister minds like yours at Guantanamo Bay. New means of "enhanced interrogation," "tell me what you know or you get THE AD!"
Iv said it before... ad's are conected to your history and cookies left by other sites in order to apeal to you, if you regularly clean up the cookies you'll rarely see other then the default ads.

That doesn't make much sense. I've never found any of the ads even remotely close to my interests besides the video game ones, and I still don't care about those.
@Vendetta- Yep. I waste alot of time here too (of course I always seem to do this sort of thing in general (not doing much of anything constructive with my time.) I wish I was more like Chef Ramsey. He's really motivated, organized, and knows how to set goals and reach them (He's definatly not a time waster.) Born same year as me , but just the opposite of me in these qualities.
Edit- It is too bad you're taking off though. Hope it help you to get some of those things done though.
