These AREN'T unpopular opinions. These are more of opinions that are just a bit odd and unique; opinions many people may have never even considered existing. For example:

Maybe the NeoGeo is your favorite game system.
Or maybe Mario Kart Arcade GP is your favorite Mario Kart game.

Here's mine:
-Plants vs. Zombies rivals Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade Chonicles in having one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Laura Shigihara, it's composer, is one of the best game composers out there.
-My favorite video game character is Spada Belforma from Tales of Innocence
-"Our Children Taken" is one of, if not the one of my favorite pieces from Zelda: Twilight Princess

An example of what this is NOT:
"The Playstation 2 was a terrible system"
"Smash Melee is the worst Smash game"
"I like Sonic 06"
All of these are controversial, and most would consider them unpopular rather than odd and obscure.

If the 4 Swords games can be considered canon Zelda games, so should Hyrule Warriors.

I can't play a sequel to a game, if I haven't completed it's predecessor in some form. Ex: I wouldn't buy Megaman 2 without beating Megaman 1. If it's from some other arch like X or Battle Network, I don't have a problem playing it.

I prefer Mario kart battle mode to be more strategic like Mario Kart 8s and Super Mario Kart and not hectic like most the other ones in the series.

Shovel Knight is a great game, because it doesn't reach high standard and nails them to a tee.

I'm alot more interested to Splatoon's single player than multiplayer. Maybe if they explained some of the other modes I would be more interested.

Legendary pokemon show up way too much in pokeballs when playing Super Smash Bros.

I love the quick start up menu more than I thought I would when it launched on Wii U. At the same time, it's still dumb that I can play a game on a gamecube game faster than I can get on any Wii U game.

It's really dumb that I can't be able to use the D-Pad in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, when its fully functional with the Wii Remote.

I hope the next Fire Emblem game goes back to the linear aspect of Fire Emblem that wasn't in The Sacred Stones or Awakening. I like the idea of a rebel army going on a linear journey instead of going to one region, doing a battle then the army suddenly decides to backtrack miles to some other army. That doesn't mean I don't want Streetpass armies and Paralogue Battles. I think those should be accessed on a menu, instead of on a map.

I know for fact that Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars' tipping/reward aspect is going to be ruined by people successfully begging for stars and making stupid levels as a joke to get a bunch of stars.

The only way I'll buy a New 3DS XL before it goes on a price drop, is if they announce Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze 3D as an exclusive for the system. A Donkey Kong themed system would also be great.

  • The Sega Saturn was my favourite ever console.
  • I feel the N64 was the best Nintendo console since they blew the world open on several of their franchises evolving them more than at any other point in time when moving to 3D when other companies were struggling to do this.
  • SM3DW looked awful when it was first revealed at E3, I'm amazed how good it turned out, it's now my favourite Mario (2D & 3D).

You know in action games, whenever you enter a new area, and something collapses that prevents you from going back? I HATE THAT. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. DOES IT. Hell, it even happened in one of the Order: 1886 videos.

Also. Getting split up from a partner as a result of said collapse.

"Keep going! I'll meet you on the other side!"

That was also in the same Order video.

damn that game looks terrible...

The Atari Lynx is one of the best handhelds I have ever played, while larger than most handhelds I love the size of it and the screen is simply divine, infinitely better than the Game Gear and Original Gameboy. Oh and it also has a fantastic library of games.
The Tiger Game.com sucks....but not as bad as everyone says it does (Like a 6.5ish in my book), and Duke Nukem 3D is strangely fun on the Com as is Lights out and Williams Arcade Classics
The Gameboy Color is the best Nintendo handheld rivaled only by the 3DS family. Both have an insane amount of quality in original titles, and a quantity/quality titles from a predating machine.

Formally Square-enixFan, Neo-GeoFan. A lover of fine games and handheld systems!!!!!!!!!!
The New 3DS XL is amazing, soon the NX will be upon us!

I really liked it when Pikmin 3 did it though.

For some odd reason, I need to play games in chronological order. To me, it just feels wrong playing a sequel if I haven't played the original game before.

I refuse to play and 2D games with an analog stick, D-Pad all the way!

I like to arrange and play my games in a worst-to-best scenario. Saving my favorite games for after last helps me clear out my backlog.

Pacman for Atari 2600 may have been the worst version of Pacman I've ever played, yet it still holds a dear spot close to my gaming heart. <3

Looking back (to the NES days) I think I'd rank the Wii U as the 2nd best Nintendo console, so far, in terms of what's been made for it (and we don't even have Zelda U yet). It's sad how poorly it's done commercially given how good the output on it is.

There are a lot of game genrés that work great on mobile platforms, but I'm simply not a fan of most of those genrés (for example, I've never been big on tower defence, RTS, match 3 puzzle games, or endless runners, regardless of platform).

That's not to say there aren't mobile compatible genrés that I like (board/card games work well, as do turn based JRPGs, and I've even had a couple shmups that have worked out), but then you have to look for the ones that lack IAPs (or at least ones where the IAPs aren't intrusive), which is tough, especially when it comes to card games.

I think Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country 2 are the best platformers ever made and I believe Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are still the best The Legend of Zelda games by far. I hate New Super Mario Bros. 2 and I didn't like Super Mario 3D Land nor Super Mario 3D World much.

I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

Capcom is one of my favorite third party companies. I'm a big fan of Street Fighter.

I hope the next Pokemon Generation has an open world, similar to Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. A like the idea of starting with whatever Gym Leader you feel like and having a very wide array of Pokemon to catch in the very beginning.

If I were to rank my top 20 video games of all time, don't be surprised if I add a Mario Party or two. I've had alot of great multiplayer moments with the series.

Half the fun of amiibos for me is finding them. I can't wait to search for Meta Knight.

I completely agreed. Saturn had a HUGE potential for a 2D or even a 3D console. Too bad people on the west don't see it's potential... TBH, for the failure of Sega Saturn, I can blame Sega management and the west for the failure of the console.
