@WaltzElf: True, but he does own a Wii. LOL, the president is a fanboy! X3
The Wii is as easy to use as a TV Remote. That's literally its selling point to 90% of the population. And the President has young children. I feel the President plays less than his children.
The PS3, Xbox, iPhone - these things actually need some basic patience and aptitude to learn how to use. My parents can use the Wii, but the iPod, and iTunes, is a bit of software they just don't care to learn how to work.
I didn't think the PS3 was that difficult to operate. Still, the menus were slightly complex, the signup process for PSN was rediculous (especially the part about not being able to terminate an account without calling a hotline) and I had an issue with not reading disk games.
I did hear however, that Obama does enjoy the occasional game of Wii Sports Bowling. >:3

Of course you don't think the PS3 is hard to operate - neither do I. But then we're savvy on this, and lifetime gamers (at least, I'm assuming you are as well).
A typical mechanic, or even car enthusiast, wouldn't think the guts of a typical car is too complicated either. But I on the other hand have NFI what I'm looking at when I pop the hood.
The theory of relativity isn't too "difficult" for a physicist, but I scored exactly 10% on the last exam I attempted in physics.
On the other hand, grammar isn't too difficult for me, but this forum is proof that it challenges a lot of other people
What I'm saying is that no one, not even the President of the United States (especially him. He's so time limited you wouldn't believe) can be an expert in everything. What's basic to some people is going to be utterly foreign to others. We're on a gaming forum.
Late to comment here, but Slapshot, "good job guys who elected him"? Do you seriously think McCain is getting headshots on Xbox Live right now? No, because he's old and doesn't care, just like Obama and probably every other politician in office.
I don't understand why anyone is even connecting this to games. He was clearly just picking random examples of technologies.
And meanwhile, you're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter. And with iPods and iPads; and Xboxes and PlayStations -- none of which I know how to work -- (laughter) -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy.

So, allowing you to compete in the global economy is the first way your education can prepare you. But it can also prepare you as citizens. With so many voices clamoring for attention on blogs, and on cable, on talk radio, it can be difficult, at times, to sift through it all; to know what to believe; to figure out who's telling the truth and who's not. Let's face it, even some of the craziest claims can quickly gain traction. I've had some experience in that regard.
Fortunately, you will be well positioned to navigate this terrain. Your education has honed your research abilities, sharpened your analytical powers, given you a context for understanding the world. Those skills will come in handy.
Full quote. The other one was taken out of context IMO

The image of McCain pwning n00bz on Xbox is pretty funny to me. "This is how you really fight a war! Dumb@$$ kids!" pew pew!
If G.W.B. had said it, the reaction of the Obama-haters would be different too. Let's not pretend political witch-hunting over out of context quotes doesn't go both ways.
Many of you guys seem to miss the point Obama makes here. Actually, I think he's right. We're living in an information society in which the line between information, entertainment and what people (want to) believe becomes thinner and thinner. Instead of using the vast amount of easily accessible information to think for themselves and make careful decisions people seem to grow stupid and ignorant and only believe what certain media tell them to believe while ignoring others.
"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter."
By truth meter he refers to the agrees with Obama meter I hate how he has the need for everyone to agree with him, which he has displayed many times before.
I was being a pain in the butt lol. I really wasnt serious, sorry if you guys took it that way. I honestly could care less for useless politicians. Heck Michelle Obama herself will be at my company next month and I will NOT be there, just because I really dont like politicians. All the Bush vs Obama stuff makes no sense but trying to place blame on the other like someone is taking score or something. I do know a LOT about politics, but in all Ive spent years of learning and studying today and past history of politicians all the way back to biblical times, they are always corrupt with their own agendas, with a big smile for the cameras or crowds. Lie to your face and do exactly what they want when they turn around. I have a friend in media that will tell you this is the dead truth!
@Adam.... Dude McCain would be fun to laugh at as well though. Man went from Glorious War Hero to push over politician. Actually kinda sad when you think about it though.

Very interesting, but not unexpected I've got plenty of proof that the "house" democrats hate the "free" media. Hilary Clinton hates videogames too and there is a state representative that made the worst comment that was basically about anime and Japan with a pearl harbor reference attached.

No, it isn't
Kind Regards,
Your online friend in the media.
Let me know when you start standing out on Capitol Hill and reporting on what's up in the White House instead of reviewing video games and writing up what's happening in the world of small electronics. I'll probably be more inclined to believe you then. :3
