"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter. And with iPods and iPads, and Xboxes and PlayStations -- none of which I know how to work -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy." - _President Barack Obama
I'm kinda glad he never mentioned the Wii or DS... but it sounds rather suspicious as he's apparently rolling with the Nintendo camp.....
Then again, case of forgetfulness or something else?
I don't get it, he just listed a few popular examples, you can't expect him to list everything...
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
I would comment on this story, but I'm very suspicious of the "(HUMOR)" part in the title.

If anyone reads too much into this they are officially an idiot.
Why, the man has statement about Everything! He has opted to Change dang near everything else why wouldnt he eventually go after the gaming industry? From the way he talks constantly only he know the right way to live and everyone else is wrong, and should be just like him and like exactly what he likes!

It's not really a statement about the video game industry. If you reread it you can tell he's referring to the role technology in general is taking on our lives. Like most politicians he's clearly not that tech savy but your statement suggests you are looking for meaning not there.
So he can supposively run our country but he cant even run a damn iPod or PS3? Wow, great job you guys who elected him in!
I imagine the limited free time that the President of the United States gets would not be wasted on video games. Just a hunch there. He's probably too busy, you know, running the country and being a father, to learn how to use technology.
Can you run a country? Don't forget, what is intuitive to one person is completely alien to another.
@WaltzElf: True, but he does own a Wii. LOL, the president is a fanboy! X3
The Wii is as easy to use as a TV Remote. That's literally its selling point to 90% of the population. And the President has young children. I feel the President plays less than his children.
The PS3, Xbox, iPhone - these things actually need some basic patience and aptitude to learn how to use. My parents can use the Wii, but the iPod, and iTunes, is a bit of software they just don't care to learn how to work.
I find it horribly ironic to hear Obama warning people about being over-flooded with media...y'know, since that's precisely what got him ELECTED, and it's a tactic his administration CONTINUES to use on a regular basis.
But yeah, this has nothing to do with Sony and Microsoft but just complicated technology in general. I can't fault the guy for no knowing how to use every piece of tech known to man. He's not exactly the only person his age to have that problem.
