While Chicago is a huge hub city with a lot of good things you really could do some damage too, and I do believe the agriculture or mercantile version of the NY stock exchange is there too, it just wouldn't be as easy or tempting. Coastal large cities are the easiest to nail as there's less ground placed stuff to knock down incoming fire, and they're just more notable. You could wipe out the capital, NYC known for so much in its immigrant history, or you could waste LA which would erase hollywood as well along with various other entites and amusements (Disneyland for one.) DC would be the most logical because the others are too wide spread, sure you could get fallout and a good little radius, but considering DC is on a 10x10square mile area a large enough weapon would level most the historical spots and then the shockwave and fallout would take care of much the rest -- also it would cripple the entire gov't of the country as all the states would haev to resort to being autonomous for awhile.
It's funny yet not, because as much as NK is known for shooting their mouths off, they actually backed it up then tried to cover up the fact a few month ago with the torpedo sinking of that south korean destroyer Cheonan, and now threatening more nuclear strikes and sub attacks. I think they'd be nuts enough to try something non-nuclear unless they truly were threatened for once, then given all that's known even money unfortunately. Also, be aware the reason no one stomps them into the ground is that the Chinese still back them more than less at this rate, but even their patience in helping a buddy commie nation is running thin due to their nutty behavior.

I actually feel that if the North Koreans nuke us and we can't nuke them back, China would eliminate them for us, because if we got nuked our economy for everyday products that the Chinese make would tank, and since we've been exporting oh-so-many jobs to them, their economy would tank as well, leaving millions of peoplle unemployed and putting huge pressure on their government to do something.
That's an interesting concept of us being unable to nuke the North Koreans back, but considering last I heard we had like 2200 or so 'declared' at least nukes ready to fire, I doubt it would be an issue. But, let's say you were right, China probably would step in considering they basically own our country now due to the trillions in debt Barack Obama/lefty congress racked up with all the bailouts and other insane spending because the Chinese bought up all that debt as treasury bonds. We start to glow green, they lose all their green and get po'd something serious as they'd never get their money back.
The idea of North Korea being able to attack any western city is almost crazy
They have their strongest weapons aimed at Seoul. If anything ever does actually happen, they will go with that target.
They'll never go after their second biggest enemy when they have about a zero percent shot of landing anything in the United States, and their number one enemy is right there.
If I were in the U.S.A. I wouldn't be that afraid. U.S.A is the superpower. Whatever they can do U.S.A. can do 10 times better. But there can always be underestamation and luck like WWII.
It's all just big-talk from a crazy Orwelian-style dictator. If it would actually happen, the USA would be able to destroy the bombs fired by a country thousands of miles away easily before they even touched US soil. I don't think North Korea would want to irritate their big brother China and pretty much piss off the rest of the planet by starting an unwinnable war against the US. They might as well surrender right away if they would do such a thing.
A pre-emptive strike against North Korea from the US would be unlikely as well as that would end up being Obama's Iraq. In fact North Korea's people are so brainwashed they would be completely unable to cope with their new freedom as the reality they are used to would be completely shot to smithereens. Civil war would be inevitable. It would be a new Iraq.

Thats not the point. We lose a lot of lives and money because of war. Winning is great, but we still take a loss.
If Korea or the US did fire a nuclear missile big enough to wipe out each other, it would be doomsday, also so I heard someone say " ooh the US are so good, I love them! I love them! If they fired a missile the US would destroy it before it touched US soil!" I thought, you moron it wouldn't have to touch the ground they'd blow it up in space and the nuclear fallout would turn to rain, kill our crops and farm animals, and suck the bloody life out of us, anyway I'm Welsh (if you don't know where wales is look it up on google earth, it's part of Britain) anyway I'm welsh so none can touch me! Lol
Oh yeh and also, a countries football (soccer) team shows how good a country is at war, Korea were crap in the world cup, admittedly being an American hater I'd say Americans would probably own Korea, although the USA football (soccer) team didn't do very well so, who knows...
Damn. I really don't want that to happen. I mean them getting nuked means we (everyone else) all have to deal with the damage to the ozone layer. Nevermind kill the koreans.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I'm amazed so many here think that North Korea could successfully complete an intercontinental nuclear strike against anything further than South Korea.
