Topic: no thanks for buying 2ds promo from nintendo fume!!!

i bought kids a 2ds this christmas plus games. they love them.
we go to registar them at club nintendo. all good and nintendo have promo on. if you bought a 3ds or 3dsxl and one of 15 games you get a free download of mario3d land but not if you bought a 2ds, which they have been pushing as the handheld console to get for kids.

my issue is why have nintendo excluded the 2ds in this promo as its their new console and loads would have been sold over the christmas period. it doesnt make sense to me not to reward those who bought 2ds as well as those who bought 3ds'.

also i like the video clip you attached. gave me a giggle

Because their marketing department ran the statistics and estimated a 3DS only promotion would be the most profitable.

I really don't see the issue here you paid for the cheapest model so why do you think you are entitled to a free download.

To be fair, as has been pointed out, Nintendo 2DS is the cheapest in the Nintendo 3DS family of systems - if I wanted to buy a Nintendo 2DS and a copy of Super Mario 3D Land, it'd run me up £129 on Amazon, which is around £15 less than a standalone Nintendo 3DS and around £30 less than a standalone Nintendo 3DS XL. So while it'd make the most sense money-wise to buy a 2DS and a retail copy of the game, stick the words "promotion" and "free game" in and people will flock like sheep in the spring.

Quite simply, the promotion excludes Nintendo 2DS because it's the cheapest of the three - but it's still a great little system, and Super Mario 3D Land would still be a great investment.

It's not really their "new console", it's basically an extra model for people who want it - the 3DS XL seems to be the main console still (I've seen no promotion of the regular model recently), and they are marketing it as such.

^This plus I'm sure their making more profit off of the 3DSXL so are rewarding the customers that spend more money.

I don't think they heavily pushed that promotion during the holiday season, so I don't think many more 3DSs were sold than expected, especially when retailers were handing out 2DS and 3DSXL sales everywhere but nothing for the traditional 3DS in sight.

First world issue.

The promotion (I'm guessing) was for 3DS/3DSXL.

So why did you get a 2DS, expecting a free game, when the promotion said you wouldn't?
