so, our grand little website tucked into the corner of the internet is nearing its big 5th birthday! sure the admins try to pass off the website's birthday as april 1st, but users like me know when it all began, November 7th, 2005. dont believe me? well heres NL's first article: http://wii.nintendolife.com/news/2005/11/our_nintendo_life_be...
anyway, just wanted to remind you guys of when it all began. you can share stories of how you found NL, how it ruined your life, and your favorite moments on the site.
I actually stumbled upon Nintendo Life about the time we launched WiiWare World. I was searching for a review of a DS game and after going through a few sites I got to Nintendo Life. I bookmarked it at the time and I visited it off and on up until the time we merged with it in April. I can remember wondering why the articles and reviews didn't get more comments.
I discovered Nintendo Life when i was looking for WiiWare reviews on the interwebs, and was totally fed up with a certain mainstream site's (I Guess i will Not name which site) horrid Nintendo coverage, or lack thereof. I actually found WiiWare World first (or was it VC-Reviews?), then soon after discovered the majesty that is N-Life.
One of my fave NLife memories, which i guess is actually tangential to NLife, was the "live" screening a whole mess of us did with CB of the Mega Man fan film (BTW, the movie was actually covered in the recent ish of Nintendo Power). Hilariously good times.
I found VC-Reviews when I was looking for a good place that reviewed VC games back when WiiWare World was fairly new. I didn't even know Nintendolife existed until the merge.

Happy Anniversary NL. I actually stumbled on this site from Wikipedia. I would go there to see what upcoming games they were releasing on the VC. The author of the page had NL listed for its source so I clicked on the link and it brought me here. Havent left since.

nice, i first found it when it was vc-reviews (in late 2007) and then wiiwareworld (when i actually joined in Feb 2008) before everything got all mergetastic later that year.

I found it back when it was called VC reviews. I was trying to find out which VC games were being released and I've pretty much been visiting this site at least twice a day since then. The people here are friendly and If you need info on the latest Nintendo jive this is the place to be. It's a great site to talk about gaming when you don't have any real friends to chat with. Hard to believe it's been 5 years already.

Thanks man! That was fun; I appreciate everyone turning out. I've been thinking about doing another live stream at point, once November is over and I have more time.
Oh dear, that was a great night. I wish I could have stayed and watched it longer. I think that's the #1 moment for me. #2 would be Des feeling a little under the weather on that one non nintendolife chat.
Also technically nintendolife is almost 2 years old with its anniversary on the 1st of April, before that it was 2 sites that where later merged to make this site, nintendolife the reality and nintendo life the dream, 2 anniversaries really.
Memorable events, 1 word story collapsing in on itself was pretty memorable
I was once an avid Gamerankings/Metacritic user (OK I guess I still am.....) and when looking for reviews of WiiWare games noticed that the exact same site kept coming up, often having the only review of that certain game. I began to like the reviews I was seeing and began lurking for... well.... months. As in, I knew half the people on this site before I even created an account. Eventually I finally created an account, and, here I am!
Memory? Hmmm. Well, it must've been when I went to visit my Grandma in Florida. I had to take a plane ride down there and I was obviously away from any internet for a while. Maybe 6-8 hours total? Anyway, when I got back on the computer, there was an 8 page thread that had started and gotten to 8 PAGES by the time I'd been gone. It was a lowly thread about this guy named Prosody......

I smelled a massive hoard of rupees locked away within the depths of this site and instantly came here to get to know the users. To this day I still search for the rupees and once I find them I will buy out this website and make it TingleLife! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
I stumbled upon NL about a year ago, and I was immediately surprised at how good the reviews were, how informative the articles were and how nice the users were. I've been checking it daily ever since.

I don't remember how I came across Nintendo Life, but one of the things that disctinctly struck me was that many of the comments on reviews were more along the lines of "Great review!" than "Great game!" I found it remarkable that a website could have a such a constructive community built up around it, and that warm feeling kept me coming back.
I find it funny that most people came here looking for Wiiware or DSiware Review.
I came looking for the same thing, but I stayed for the Thread it had here. And a New Place to Trolllololol
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
