I got kinda hooked on DQIX, and I've been busy with that game thing, so haven't started playing it yet. Gonna blast through on Normal Mode. Cleared it on Easy mode and I thought that was difficult enough. Hard mode is going to destroy me xD

Wow, I'm usually not drawn to games like this, so thanks NL Game Club (HolyMackerel) for suggesting this! I'm not far, just to the Bushlands, but I'm loving it!

Spoiler?
If I'm going to try and beat the Sanctuary, should I go for the Snake or the Spur?

@Kid_A - I personally used the Spur when I beat the Sanctuary (it's very powerful) but the Snake also comes in handy. As you're fighting through the first levels, the Snake will give you head-starts as it destroys certain things ahead for you. Gives you better speed-run time too.

If only you two had spoken sooner! I got the Spur, but thankfully easy mode (and the nemesis) are making the Sanctuary much more bearable. I'm getting further every time, but

Alright this might actually be a spoiler
I can't beat that blasted mid-way boss. It would actually be pretty simple if it wasn't for all those stupid enemies constantly flying at you. Any strategies for this? I had to use my life pot, which I'm thinking isn't a good sign.

Don't worry, I got the Spur too to beat it, proved to be no problem for me with the Spur. I didn't even get the Nemesis so consider yourself lucky! As for you using the life pot, I really don't think that was the best option...

By that mid-way boss, you mean the Heavy Press? If you don't have Curly with you, this is going to be a little tough. Basically, I'd say, use your Spur. Short, powerful blasts of energy should wear the big thing down. If the flying cherubims (forgotten their names :P) come at you, just try and dodge, or get them to one side, and blast 'em to kingdom come. It's not easy though, so do your best.

Use a lot of charged Spur shots. They are powerful. Once you get the cherubims to one side (you must charge up your Spur while running), load it on to them. As for the Press, just shoot up, short bursts or charged shots. As soon as you deplete its health though...

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE TO THE SIDE OF THE SCREEN, AWAY FROM UNDERNEATH IT!

If you don't, it will crush you. And you will die. So, just run. After that, it's all good and dandy, so continue on your way to the final boss.

...I know I'm not a part of this club, or whatever, but I thought I'd just give my input...

Unfortunately, that's not the final boss.
However, If you want more health after you beat the Doctor, SPOILER talk to Chaco twice. Trust me, you'll need it.

SPOILERS
So, Kazuma and I escaped from the island together, leaving the Doctor to do his bidding. The end. A bit of a disappointment, if I do say so myself.

Joking, I'm going back into the island right now.

...to no avail. Yet.

@Kid_A - Um, do you stay on those revolving platforms? If you do, maybe you should try the floor, with a nice hovering boost at random intervals. It could help you keep away from further danger.

Maybe I'm totally off here, but doesn't stuff rise out of the floor to prevent you from staying on it? If not then I'll give it a shot.

I just found the Bubline on my second playthrough! D:
Huh, that's pretty cool that you can skip something like a new weapon in the game. Neato! :3

Who else has found this? This has got to be like my new favorite weapon! :)
