Not sure exactly where to post this so going with here! What are your views on the official store?

Initially i noticed some special editions only available on the official store but then decided to try and move all my purchases across but not sure it's been as good an experience as it could've been.

1) Prices are a good £5 higher than other online retailers. I would've thought buying direct from Nintendo and cutting out the middleman would allow them to make a bigger profit from buying direct without the price increases. I'm an idiot so happy to do it but i doubt they'll sway many other consumers by being a more expensive option.
2) Lack of preorders. Shopto will often have recently announced games up for purchases straight away. After a Nintendo Direct i'll often get my preorders sorted and then forget about them. It's not as easy with the official store.
3) Am finding a lot of free gifts are available with a code you can use at checkout but the announcements of these(like today) are after preorders are already despatched. Admittedly it's only a couple of keyrings but would be nice to reward preorders.
4) Packaging of the Bayonetta special editions wasn't desirable, had seen one guy on youtube had his damaged but thankfully mine was ok. Could've been v different though, will have to see how my amiibos arrive...
5) Unreliable despatching - i had Smash Bros with GC adaptor, the GC controller and all amiibos on preorder. Have seen a string of emails this week with it all being sent out in dribs and drabs, would've made sense to put in one package. As long as i get it all it's no problem but the website is showing one amiibo has't been despatched and the GC controller with an estimated despatch of next week...

Any thoughts or similar experiences? IMO it's a great idea to maxmise revenue but like the official website it does need a bit of work...

They don't actually do it for themselves. (Other than perhaps the digital bit I dunno.)

The Hut / Zavvi are the people who deal with it (And presumably take the normal cut) and the awful service associated with them.

I was going to say "that explains a lot" but it doesn't, it explains EVERYTHING! More fool me for thinking that Nintendo were savvy enough to cut out the middleman but it's more zavvi than savvy. I fell out with them years back over a botched vita preorder and use of yodel. My business is going back to shopto right away. Although since moving house my new local yodel guy ain't too bad. New guy turns up on a Sunday or even late evening to make sure things get delivered without dumping them over fences.

Don't deliver everywhere. I don't like it

19 preorders added to my shopto account, i'll be damned if Zavvi are having my money!
