How likely do you think the following rumors will eventually come true? Here’s my take:

1. Nintendo 64 Classic Edition: I think it will happen. Why not since both NES and SNES Classic Edition sold like hotcakes.
2. Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch: Not sure about this one. They already put it out on the Wii and Wii U shop.
3. SNES and other retro console games on Switch Online found under data mining of the app: Maybe SNES. Other than that it seems unlikely with 2 NES games a month they will never get to N64, GBA and beyond. Besides, they are not making money putting out a lot more on the online subscription unlike VC where they charge per title.
4. Mother 3: My realistic guess is it will probably never be released in the West no matter how much pressure fans put on Nintendo to localize it.

1. I think the N64 classic could happen, but it's not likely. Nintendo seems to place a higher value on 3D games than 2D ones. N64 games will probably be released individually on the e-shop, and not be part of any compilation.
2. Metroid Prime Trillogy will be released on Switch shortly before Prime 4 comes out.
3. There will definitely be SNES games for Switch Online at some point in the future. Nintendo is taking their time because they want this service to be around for years. Can't put them up too fast, or they will run out of classics quick. Eventually they will add GBC and GBA, but like I said earlier, N64 games will be given individual releases.
4. With Iwata gone, I think you are right about Mother 3.

And to add one more, I believe the rumor about new Switch models coming out soon.

i'm gonna say there's a 50% chance will see SNES on Nintendo Switch Online or in some other form.
An N64 Classic could happen.
Metroid Prime Trilogy: will have to wait and see. so many leakers are saying it's a thing. but nothing has been confirmed for it to be real.
Mother 3: yeah, we are not seeing that. if we were still in the Wii U era. i would say maybe, since the Switch has no way of playing GBA games officially yet. and since they don"t have any real plans to rerelease the game for switch in any form. im gonna agreed with you and say no.

1. N64 Classic: I'd put this at 50%. While the N64 did have a good library, it's not as vast as the NES and SNES, and lots of the good games would be tied up with licensing issues. Plus, I feel like the controllers would be kind of unwieldy. Now that the Switch is established, I think that would make more sense as the platform for N64 re-releases. But given the success of the other Classics, it's still possible.

2. Metroid Prime Trilogy: I'll put this one at 75%. There's too much smoke for there not to be fire with this one. But it's a little perplexing as to why it hasn't been announced yet. Either it's there, waiting in the wings, or it's vaporware as Star Fox Grand Prix seems to be.

3. NSO legacy content: I'd say SNES games are 100%. The controller icons have been found, similar to the NES ones, so SNES games will be coming, along with NSO-member-only SNES controllers. Other consoles and portables I'd have to put at 50/50. It makes sense, and Nintendo has repeatedly said that NSO is the successor to Virtual Console and that we should wait and see how it plays out, so that is a good sign. But the snail-in-cement pace of the NES games coming out wouldn't seem to leave much time for them to do SNES, and then GB/GBC, GBA, N64, DS, etc. on top of that. Something would have to change drastically in the way these games are released in order for that to be possible, but it could happen.

4. Mother 3: I'm going to be a bit of an optimist with this one and put it at 65%. I think Nintendo finally realizes the demand for the Mother/EarthBound series and they will make it happen. I think the main issues are 1) a lack of an official localization ready to go (which was not a problem for the other two games) and 2) that since there is no VC anymore, there is not really any ideal service for it to be a part of. It would either have to be an eShop release (which is probably the most likely, even though it would be weird to just have one random GBA port in the eShop), or part of a part of a hypothetical GBA app for NSO (which would be better, but may not exist, and wouldn't allow Nintendo to profit from it as much). Regardless, I think Nintendo really does see the opportunity here, it's just they're not in a huge rush, so they have time to analyze everything and figure out the way they want to do it.
