I defend video games smile face against the same people smile face defending the video game. Drizzle ma' fo' Shizzle uppity bo bo. smile face
tl;dr version.
Now it looks more like a Waveboy post.
On-topic, I'm over pretty much all of Nintendo's franchises. Platformers don't really do it for me, and never have, and Zelda has grown very stale. Fire Emblem is still awesome though.
I do like pretty much anything with Yoshi in it though because he's an awesome character.
Edit: One other thing - can we please stop calling the Japanese "Japs" on these forums? I've seen it a couple of times now and it's the cultural equivalent of going up to a black man and calling him a n*****. It's offensive, so don't.
Mario Kart has always pissed me off because of one word: REBALANCING
When you're in front, all you get is banana peels and I always end up hitting my own peels anyways. Then the last place guy whose been driving the wrong way half the time gets a Bullet Bill and wins!?
At least it's not as bad as Burnout's rebalancing.
@Waltz: If you see that happening, please report it — I can't take care of it if I don't know it's going on, but I do knock that sort of thing out when I see it
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
Kid Icarus(NES/Wii VC)-I hate it not because it's bad,but because it's incredibly hard,i am still on stage 1-2 after like 3 years of owning it.
Mario Party Franchise-After the Nintendo 64 games,i lost my interest entirely for some reason and i tried to go back to it by buying Mario Party 8,i don't know what the "Party" is in that game, because i certainly didn't have fun.
The Legend of Zelda 3D Games-After Majora's Mask the franchise just went downhill, especially in Skyward Sword, can anyone say sidequests?
Pokemon franchise-I love it,but why release multiple versions of the same game? i mean later on they release a superior version with all the content of both of the previous games(Crystal>Silver/Gold for example).
Pikmin-Never got my attention and i am certainly not excited for the 3rd game.
I lost interest in nintendogs after a while, but then the inner collector in me wanted to see what cool stuff was hidden in all those random item boxes. And it was not disappointing - I found Mario Karts, CD's, RC Helicopters, Keyboards, Space Shuttles, lots of cool stuff. I do agree that the bulk of the gameplay got stale fast though, and it's more than embarrassing to be talking to your DS anywhere except deep in your room where nobody will ever know.
Onto the games I actually didn't like... I didn't like the 2D Metroid games. Maybe I'm from an age where games are much easier, but I didn't like how they just threw you in and didn't give you any indication of where to go. That being said, I've yet to give Super Metroid a try, so maybe that'll change my mind.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
@Waltz: If you see that happening, please report it — I can't take care of it if I don't know it's going on, but I do knock that sort of thing out when I see it
Sorry, I didn't meant to sound like I was offended - I think a lot of people aren't aware that it's an offensive word, so I just wanted to point it out in case. I don't think anyone on these forums are hateful like that
New Super Mario Bros Wii. I liked the DS version, though. It appears Nintendo's pretending that one of them never existed for New Super Mario Bros 2... I wonder which one? That'll be fun to learn at E3.
I'm thinking everything from all developers on all systems are getting stale these days and I hope the Wii U can change this repetitive laziness that has gone on too long through this gen.
Mario is getting crappy and way too easy with each new installment (yes even mario kart).
LOZ is also following the mario trend lately.
3rd party developers have no imagination and cannot expect to survive by releasing the same FPS everytime or boring RPG with massive game breaking glitches and shoddy stories with poor characters.
(Where is my online multiplayer pirate fiasco adventure that fully expands upon the Monster Hunter type genre except open world and makes it a million times better)
I know this is a thread about Nintendo but I am also looking at you Sony + Microsoft.
I didn't know every 3rd person developer created an FPS.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
NES Open Tournament Golf, that game... is... total... crap!
Wii Sports, it was fun for a while before reality kicked in and your brain realized "hey, this game is boring and the baseball bat isn't doing what it's supposed to..."
Wii Play, the only reason you'd buy this game... well, there isn't one.
Donkey Kong Jr. it's Donkey Kong... but it's just wrong.
Zelda II the Adventure of Link, I can't put into words how much I hate this game.
Wrecking Crew, something about it is fun, but ultimately a waste of time.
Pilotwings Resort, it's a good game but it's very shallow and the 3D is horrible for my eyes.
I think that's it for now, I can't think of any more. Most of the current ones they've made have been pretty superb, except for some absolute atrocities like WiiSports, Wii Play, Mii Music etc.
It takes some getting used to, but I wouldn't say it's total crap. A shallow Golf game with weird controls, maybe, but not crap. At least in my opinion.
