I have that Monopoly game too! I haven't opened it yet, because I'm saving it in MINT condition!

The few Nintendo-related board games made, aside from simple rethemings of existing games like Monopoly, are surely terrible stuff.

I played this Legend of Zelda board game with a friend of mine as a kid; he didn't have a TV in his house, but he had more than enough board games to fill the void:

Also, it doesn't quite count as a traditional board game, but I have the Mario Party e-Reader card game with the board where you lay your different card stacks, and the eReader for the minigames of course.

I found a copy of this old Super Mario Bros. game at a rummage sale YEARS ago:

I quite like it, actually. It's a weird game, but fun.

I also have a copy of Nintendo Monopoly, of course. 'Twould be shameful had I not!

god, i REALLY hate when designers just take stock images of the characters and just seem to throw them together on MS paint. why is link 2d when everyone else is 3d!? why is it 90% mario characters!? why is Samus about two times the size of everyone else, and why arent they showing her most prominent feature, her gun!? would that make it look un-family friendly? why isnt Kirby or Pokemon on the box!? those are theyre most kid friendly franchises anyway
these people just google images, take the first one they find and put it on the board! what annoys me the most about the game is that they forgot about 70% of the nintendo franchises on there.
Wheres punch out, earthbound, pokemon, starfy, super smash bros, advance wars, miis, F-Zero, and game and watch

Those who've posted games other than Monopoly, would you care to briefly describe the game? I'm really more into board games than video games, myself, though in this post-college world it is hard to find people eager to compete in this lost art, so I'm interested, especially since Stuffy even makes the outrageous claim that that hideous board was actually fun! (Well, while it does look terrible, most old board games do. )

Well, I don't know if you'd necessarily agree with my opinion on that title, Adam. I admit it's fairly simplistic, and it's been so long since I played it that I'm not sure I recall the rules quite right. Let's see...you roll a die with colors on it to determine movement of Mario (everyone plays the same Mario) based on the color of the floor tiles. You can collect coins, though I forget what they're for. There are enemy cards that allow you to play Goomba's, Bullet Bill's, and other classic Mario foes on the board to try to take out the opponents...which off-handedly seems to make NO sense since you're all playing the same Mario... I'm really not very much help at all, am I?

Thing is, the game's buried in my brother's closet right now, so I can't just get it out for a refresher. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, the boards are stacked backwards in that picture.

Yeah, I love the non-monopoly games, they look interesting.

Sounds like a game of luck with some simple decision elements with the enemy cards. Probably would have loved it some time between my Candy Land and checkers phases. It's a shame my nephew isn't into Mario enough to justify Ebaying this game to try it out for myself, haha.

@Adam: I know this isn't really on topic, but what kind of board games do you like to play? I like to play games like the Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Alhombra, Munckin, etc. Do you play any of these games? If not, what board games do you like to play?

@Adam: I doubt I'd really enjoy the game as much now as I used to, either. It's certainly not a BAD game, at any rate.

Maybe we should start a separate board game thread (if there isn't one already that I don't know about)...one where we can just talk games in general. My dad has a HUGE collection, and I've played a pretty good variety. Lots of stuff that's awesome, but wouldn't sell enough for Hasbro to not discontinue. Seriously...some of the games WERE discontinued when Hasbro bought the companies that made them.

Also, @irken: That looks pretty darned cool! Sure beats REGULAR Jenga.
