Has this been confirmed yet? It's a shame that Sega is abandoning Nintendo, so that means no Sonic in Super Smash Bros. 4.
Edit: Oh no, this is real. This is bad news for Sega fans like me. Not only have all of the things mention that I predicted happens, Sega is not even making an video game console. This IS EPIC FAIL! Sega. cancel this generic system.

They are not abandoning Nintendo, according to this quote from Wikipedia.
The Sega Vision is a PMP announced in early October, 2008. It is the first new consumer electronics device made by Sega since leaving the hardware market in 2001. It is set for release in Europe in 2009. The PMP is not a portable Dreamcast nor a successor to the GameGear. It is not a competitor to the PSP and DS either. The gaming capabilities are limited to Java titles only.
