kind of, sort of, not really. Im a bit dorky, kind of, but I talk A LOT (not about videogames) I looove art (Im in my school's art club) I loove sports, I weight lift a lot, I have the ability to talk to pretty girls without sounding like an idiot (which is a steryotype, no offense), actually, a big fraction of my friends are girls. At lunch I used to sit with a boy and three girls, but then the guy disappeared.... I dont ever mention videogames in the real world for the most part, I fit in the normal crowd. But then again, in my school we have a waaay different nerd definition: Annoying, mean jerks who talk are very immature, dress in videogame, star wars, and super hero clothes and think they are superior and that everyone ele is stupid, cuz A LOT, and get bad grades because they say they are too good for school work. Im a great student (got the most outstanding student award last year), am in a robotics tournament, am on a video game forum, love Nintendo, make videogames in my free time, etc...
So I have nerdy attributes, but I just consider myself a nice guy overall

We had a group like that at our (admittedly small) school. They had LANs on the weekend, talked up their rigs, generally behaved badly and played Pokemon under the desk during English and Maths. Not necessarily the brightest kids and they really didn't care about their marks but they weren't idiots... None of them went onto UNI
Our Nerd group (which I was a part of) included the people doing the higher Maths and Science (not English). We didn't do Pokemans (at least not publicly) but we did write a whole lot of random calculator games, non-games and animations which were virally distributed. I was part of the Chess club for a while and so were a few others and interestingly some of the peoples only ever seen in the library (bookworms) who mostly sucked at it. Having said that we did team up with what I guess would be "the jocks" every lunchtime on the oval for soccer excluding the times they were in the mood for Aussie Rules or Basketball and we weren't.

I've seen a particular comment a couple of times now ... just because you like, or do, sports does not mean you're not a nerd. Just like playing a sport doesn't necessarily make you a jock. Me? I'd probably say I'm a nerd. Based on the above definition, four college degrees* (I guess I collect them like hobbies) probably makes me a nerd. No shame in it. I certainly won't ever apologize, or feel the need to make excuses for, my desire to better myself in life.
