How can I make another comment regarding names without repeating myself?
I remember a time not too long ago when this question would not have even crossed your mind. In fact, you probably would have made a new thread about it instead. You get my vote for most improved member, kiddo.
@josh: Well, your change is referenced in your sig, plus "josh" was in there either way. I don't think it was so bad. I still don't get what's up with your PSN ID/Gamertag, though.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
@stuff: lol one drunken night as a teen my cousin called me turtle. that turned into turtle man. that turned into jcturtle (jc being my initials). Now every one here in the small town I live in (who know me) calls me by one of the three instead of my actual name. even my mom, she doesnt know that it came from me being drunk though. one more lol
We made the rule a few days ago after being spammed mercilessly by fickle people changing it one day and then changing their mind and wanting it switched back. There's a plan to add functionality to allow people to change their names themselves and then lock it for 90 days to stop people abusing it.
I would definitely agree that anyone changing their name should reference the old name in their signature for a few months if they want people to know who they are. I tired of made-up screen names looooong ago and have used my own name in various forms for years online. Nobody's stalked me or accosted me on the street for slagging them online yet!
I suddenly have the violent urge to change my name to ICan'tChangeThisNameFor90Days.
I'm totally kidding, don't get any ideas, coughcorbiecough

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
@Sean Aaron - I too use my real name and have never understood peoples problem with using their real name online, it does seem to be for some irrational fear of being stalked or name jacked or some other crazy idea. People don't have a problem using their real name in public outside of the internet so why on it??
