Well, tonight, on the sad night of January 17th, our beloved rabbit Charlie passed away at the young age of 2 1/2. He was sweet, funny, and lovable, and we all loved him so much. However, he was able to easily get out from our pen that we kept him and our other rabbit in. On Friday, when no one was there to watch him, he got out for a long time. We think he ate something he wasn't supposed to. He got sick, and tonight, after a whole day of outings, we came home and my mom found him pretty much lifeless and inactive. Rest in peace, Charlie.
EDIT: Well, today, we were able to take the first step in moving on: finding a new home for a bunny. Lil Perry (lil isn't part of the name, lol) is 2 months old, likely a girl, and is a cottontail-dutch rabbit breed. We hope it will be a good companion for Elphaba. Thanks for the support in these hard times everyone! Really appreciated.
sorry to hear about your loss SonicMaster. Rabbits eat the darnedest things. I had one when I was a kid and living in Germany. My parents kept it in the basement in my dads workshop because it kept getting out of its cage too. One day my dad went into his workshop for something and discovered that the rabbit had escaped again AND it had eaten all of the rubber coating off the electrical cables on all of his power tools, the freezer, the iron, etc. Some were even still plugged in!
My parents decided it was time to release the rabbit back into the wild. We drove out into the woods and let the thing go. In hindsight, that probably wasn't the best thing to do with a rabbit that was 100% domesticated and pretty much born into captivity.
When I had a Goldfish, it lived for 2 years. During Winter after my family moved, his bowl was next to the heater and the water must have gotten too hot and he died.
R.I.P. Charlie. Really sorry to hear about the loss, SonicMaster. I am an animal lover, so I totally understand how upset you are; I have lost quite a few pets in my life, and I know I still miss them from time to time, because they really become a part of the family (we mainly have dogs.)

R.I.P., Charlie. Death stories are always sadder with animals involved.
You're not alone, SonicMaster. Even though I have no deaths going on, I still can't help but feel a bit under pressure this month. I'm a very busy guy.
Thanks for the support, everybody. It was a very tough loss. We loved him very much, and we didn't expect to see him go so soon. I put some hay and food on his grave earlier, and I'm working on a memorial stone as we speak.
