Did log on to Nintendo.com but didn't show mii getting any coins, but I can confirm that I did indead get coins from all that posTED above! tankz for the heads up!

@Undead_terror: The site does not inform you when you get coins from visiting the official Nintendo website but if you go to your Point History, it should tell you if you received any by doing that.

Oh fart. Not that it mattered much, but do none of the $4.99 Virtual console games count for the $5 gold coins because it's literally 1 cent cheaper than the minimum it wants? It says tax not included to earn the coins. I got Super Dodge Ball, which is actually on sale for $3.49 (or w/e) on the 3DS, but either way it wouldn't have counted?
Also curious to know how anyone would get the $60 or $70+ rewards when I don't think I've ever seen a game go for more than $59 in the eShop. But please inform me about these 2 things if I'm mistaken.

Just for the record my NNID is connected to My Nintendo. For some reason I thought for a minute maybe my accounts weren't linked but they are.

Well I didn't get the gold coins for 3.49 nbd though really cause it was so cheap, but I agree it should count for 4.99 and for the original price, not sale prices. People would miss out on ever level, not just the cheapest one like me haha.

Wooo how fun! A basket of virtual console adding up to $75 or something, and it unlocks all the gold at once, then I use the gold to get more VC. I'm so anxious if it worked like that!!!

Aren't you supposed to get the eShop and Miiverse mission every Sunday? I haven't been able to do it yet...

I'm trying to decide if I should get my sister the Zelda Picross game as a late Birthday gift, since she's a bigger Zelda fan than I am.

I am half way to 1000 points again. Not a big WarioWare fan but I might still get it.

@DarthNocturnal: I got the Zelda Picross and Miitomo Mario Suit, which is why I am having to re-stock up points. but I am getting them pretty fast. Still haven't gotten any Gold points and I would love to get Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Luigi U lol.

I'm at 550 platinum coins right now. Only 3.75 weeks until I get Twilight Princess Picross!

I grabbed both 3DS themes, it is a nice plus. Though, now I only have 57 platinum coins.

Well, I now have everything I currently want (TP Picross, Mario theme, & Donkey Kong theme).

Now I have 65 coins, and almost an entire 3 weeks to save up even more, before it updates with new rewards.

@DarthNocturnal: There is absolutely NOTHING 'evil' about preferring physical copies (of games) over digital. I have lost a couple of my Steam and iOS games because their license expires therefore you are unable to re-download them ever again, despite paying for them!

Back onto the topic in question, could someone clarify something to me:

Do you HAVE to spend your coins (even the gold ones!) before the expiry date(s)? That's really sucks if you are unable to keep hold of the coins you have earned over a long period of time.

@DarthNocturnal: So, I have got until the last day in May to spend my coins? That's really ungrateful, actually!

The Club Nintendo points (or 'stars' as they were called) in both the UK and EU expired after 24 months - two whole years - and as you say so yourself, the coins scheme in the US had up to a year with the whole bronze, silver, gold and platinum rewards.

I am not feeling the love for My Nintendo at the moment...

As for my digital games disappearing, it isn't just licenses expiring. They can be as simple as not being updated to the latest iOS firmware, as a handful of games that is stuck on iOS 5 and 6 cannot be downloaded for iOS 9, for example.

The likes of Mirror's Edge, Flight Control and Zuma are no longer found in my purchases, despite buying them!

Well, I pre-loaded Star Fox Zero this morning and got 50 Gold Coins. Once I get Star Fox Guard I will have 70 points.

I got Dodge Party yesterday ($2) and didn't get any points

I am wanting Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Luigi U but don't think I will be able to get both... (I would be lucky to get 1 of them, DKCR is more important to me but I might have to settle for Super Luigi U if I don't get enough points before DKCR disappears)

I hope they don't just have Zelda Picross as the only special game option until the offer expires. I'd have like 10,000 platinum coins by then. But the VC seems fairly priced and I want that DK 3DS theme.

@Dankykong: I hope they don't have other games up for grabs that interest me. After this week's free 120 platinum coins I'm now at 670 platinum coins. Considering Miitomo is not available in my country, it will still take me three weeks to get enough for Zelda Picross. :

I got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess picross game this morning, after landing on exactly 1,000 points!

For now, Miitomo will get nary a look in until the next wave of rewards are up for grabs.

Themes on the 3DS are somewhat quick and easy to get, whereas those gold discount codes are shameful.

Whose terribly poor idea was this?! The coin 'cost' for the Virtual Console games are not too bad, I must admit.

Since the debut of My.Nintendo I've been able to get Zelda Picross, WarioWare: Touched!, and that DK 3DS Home Theme.

Not much left for me to get really. Hoping for new rewards soon.

Well, I almost have 1000 platinum points again, but I am going to get the Splatoon instead of WarioWare Touched. Maybe if I save up enough again, I will get WarioWare but that seems unlikely with how much Miitomo has slowed down.
