After raiding my local pharmacy for crazy pills, I decided to take the plunge and see what this MLP:FIM fad was about. The final verdict?

It's..."Okay".

It's not a bad show and there are some moments where I did give a cold, dark, and depressing laugh. But other than that, there's not really much to the show and I'm not quite sure why it's gotten as popular as it has. Of course, the internet is a really stupid creature, so I can't say I'm not surprised.

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

I have to wonder what the obsession with this stupid show. Is it actually really deep or adult oriented? Does it use that new fangled "LOL SO RANDOM" humor? Do people just think it's THAT cute? And it seems like the people who like it most are 20 something year old weeaboos. What am I missing here?

And no, I'm not prepared to watch an actual episode.

If you can give me a good reason to watch a wee little girl's cartoon, maybe I will understand.

For some reason... I expected the show to have blood, puke and all that stuff. It reminds me of Happy Treehouse or something like that. Cool to know it's produced by the people behind PPG and Foster's Home. I loved those shows and I'm sad to see them go. The 10th Anniversary of PPG was pretty disappointing and too quick though :(

Because I think it's a good show? This is coming from a dude going to college. That's just my opinion though, you don't have to watch the awesomness if you don't want to.

This has a couple pretty awesome moments:

Seriously though, you should never judge a book by it's cover. This is a perfect example. Just because it's aimed at 3-6 year old girls, doesn't mean you should knock at it. The characters are fleshed out and just great. The writing is excellent, the animation is great, voice acting is sub-par, it's just great.

Because it's funny, contrary to most cartoons these days.

I don't see much of a reason for anybody to feel ashamed about it. If it's what you like and it don't affect anybody else, you may as well be proud of it.

I'd say the first episode (as I pratically refuse to watch a show if I haven't seen the episodes in order, even one that doesn't have much of a plot) but episode 8 or 9 with the Zebra is the best one I've seen so far so maybe that.

Yeah, no harm in starting at the beginning. Episode 1 and Episode 2 form a two-parter, so you'll need to watch them together.

19 year old dude studying Veterinary Medicine, and I love this show to bits. Ashamed I be not.

Time for some sweet Sonic Rainboom action.

I don't really like this show IMO, and I've watched about five episodes. I won't bash people for liking it at all, as I understand why people like it.
This is similar to Pokemon for me: something that looks made just for kids enjoys a dedicated older fanbase.

Yes, because ponies are awesome - always have been always will be. Unless you're riding them, in which case they're terrifying,
