@Applejacklove - I just ended, got to go to sleep soon. I've got Hush now, Quite now in my head right now, just Fluttershy's part. Along with planning for the project.

Since about the beginning of time, I hated anything to do with My Little Pony. Although, being a guy, that wasn't anything surprising. I hardly saw anything of the Pre-FiM MLP shows, because I was too busy avoiding it when my sister was watching it. But that was when I was a little boy. Early last year, before I knew about Friendship is Magic, I would go on the internet, and find pony memes, ponies as people's avatars and the like. I remember thinking "What's the with?" So I figured I wasn't going to watch the show.
That's before I stumbled on this thread last August. I was surprised that people were actually watching a show based off of cheap plastic toys for girls. And you know what I did? I requoted the "No." quoteception and ignored the thread for which I thought would be forever. Yeah, now I knew the show was probably kinda good, but I didn't want to watch it. After all, it was still a show intended for little girls, and I was afraid of what people would think.
That is, until my cousin (male) became a brony and got me to watch an episode.
So I started with the first episode, and I didn't really like it. Yet, when it finished, I wanted to watch the next one. (Might be because cliffhangers are my weakness, but eh. ). I didn't watch it immediately, though, because I was busy, but the thing is, I couldn't stop thinking about ponies. So, later I watched the second episode, didn't really like it either. Both parts just felt like one of those straight-to-video movies: Generic "stop the bad guy from taking over" plot, bad guy with generic-ish lines, and a loose lesson in the form of "get some friends" to attempt to make mothers feel good about their kids watching it. I don't think I would be a brony today if it weren't for the people around me watching it, and I deciding to join in. By the fourth episode, I started to like the show a bit, and that's when I started to actually get serious about watching it, and the farther I got in, the more I liked it. I found it funny and heartwarming, and the characters relatable. And I've never thought the same way about the My Little Pony brand again.
(Also, haven't had a problem hiding it from people. I can sing the Cupcakes song in public, and nobody knows it's a pony song.)
So, I know this won't be seen by many people who need it, but I want to give a PSA to all those non-bronies: Don't judge a book by it's cover, but also, don't be afraid to try something just because other people might also misjudge said cover.
I'm pretty okay.

@TeeJay - I'm just racing with my cousin. Since when do you not use shyguy? Well he had enough, I won't be on much longer either.
Shy Guy was actually never really my main character. It was Koopa. I had only just started using Shy Guy for a bit when I started racing with you. I've recently got back into using Luigi, though. (He used to be my main, 'cause he's awesome)
It's not as bad I thought it would be, but if one of my friends find out i'll NEVER hear the end of it. Which is why I watch it in the corner of my basement with a paper bag over my head.
I watched an episode of my little pony and after I felt... awkward.
That`s normal. That awkward feeling you`re getting is because you have a mindset of ``I can`t possibly like this`` conflicting with ``I want to see more``.
The more you watch, the more the mindset should fade away.
The only way I let the public know I'm a brony is when I use my school's library computers (as far in the back as possible) to watch episodes and visit this thread.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I've actually told a few brony jokes to acquaintances. I didn't expect anyone to get them and I know they wouldn't figure it out. Other then that I have not let the general public know I gave the show a chance.
Do you guys remember when the whole brony movement was starting out on 4chan? When bronies would get banned for posting ponies (i.e. Mods asleep, post ponies). Well, I do. But, at the time that it was going on, I merely ignored it. (This happened back in February of 2011) Fast foward to June or July, I was checking out the newest memes over at KnowYourMeme, I noticed the "Why Wub Woo" meme. At that time, I was truly disgusted and quite frankly, disturbed at the fact that older men watched the show. Some time later, I saw the "Bronies/Brownies" animation by Spazkid. This reinforced my distaste for the show even more. Later, I saw the "Friendship is Magic, B!&@#" cartoon on the front page of Newgrounds. I found that extremely hilarious, and finally, I decided to watch a complete episode (I only watched a small section of "Applebucking Season". I was also very annoyed at the fact that Tara Strong was in every cartoon.) So, one day, I noticed that they had some of the episodes "On Demand" on my cable box. So, I just picked a random episode. I didn't even get past the theme song before I turned it off and said to myself, "I've lost all hope in humanity". The episode was "A Dog and Pony Show". For some strange reason, I decided to watch another episode. This time I at least go to the theme song, before laughing uncontrollably, and shutting it off. (The Best Night Ever) So, finally, one day after school, I finally sat down and watched an episode from beginning to end (again, "On Demand"). I couldn't believe how funny and good that episode was (Dragonshy). Three days later, I decided to post on the NintendoLife thread (I threw up when I realized that there were other bronies). While I did enjoy the show, I hated all of the bronies. I found most of them to be highly obnoxious and annoying. And, it took me a while to actually admit that I was a brony (I always said that I was a fan of the show). So, slowly, but surely, I started posting more and more, becoming more friendly towards others and eventually admitting to being a brony. I even started doing throw-up comics to introduce people into the herd.
Isn't it weird how I got into the herd due to hate?
So, I have now reached the 6 month point, and hopefully I'm able to reach the full year.
Way back in March 2011, Another forum I was part of had a "Pony versus Llama" thingy where people would either put a pony or a llama as an avatar to show support. In June on another forum, I asked a member about the "Whole pony thing" as I put it back then. He said it was because of My Little Pony, Friendship Is Magic. He told if you're going to watch My Little Pony, watch Friendship Is Magic.
So, like any other sane person, I expected to hate it.
Opening lines(Or at least the first ones that stood out):"Spike, I believe Equestria is on the precipice of disaster" ...Precipice? Did this show just use the word precipice? The whole "Dragon is slightly illiterate" thing was kinda funny. So I finished that episode and was amazed at the fact that I did not hate it. So I watched the next one, and so one.
Recently I actually watched every moving thing that goes on, and it astounds me.
This show is best compared to Bugs Bunny. The plot makes enough sense, the animation is great, the voice acting is perfect, the characters are fun yet have their flaws, the humour can be understood by an older audience and is actually somewhat clever.
The only reason more people don't like this show, is because it has My Little Pony in the title. And that is a terrible shame.
@SquiggleTail - I don't, I missed that stuff. I only really got into it back in november and I spent several days learning about the community and reading this forum to know what was cannon or established before posting because I decided I excepted if I joined in and I did. Alot of the time during my search I was trying to work out if I actually liked it, or if it was some part of my past trying to over rule the present. I missed alot and as normal I came late to the party but I've taken time to catch up. I think your going to make more then a year but as for the hate, not really. I could go with a psych book explanation but I'd rather say your hate was indifference and curiosity about it rather then hate. I could be wrong of course but it sounds more likely. It's easiest to say I don't like something rather then try it, out of my own experiences, I would bet on that for you. Also I got your puke free one on my computer, I took a copy.
@Tare - It is a shame but memories don't die and sadly those memories aren't good ones for the haters. Also there's stereotyping that people have to over come first too. But that would be my best comparison.
Sadly I do need this thing called sleep, so good night everypony
@Squiggles - I'm not caught up, your back, I think Magic-Wind is yours, I think you know what I mean, runs to snow drift.
@Aqueous, And so, a very eager SquiggleTail stalks its prey... waiting to pounce at any moment... waiting to strike... "Finally, I haven't done this in weeks, maybe even a month... @Magic-Wind, thou shall feel my wrath!"...
