@DestinyMan's comment (#28), reminded me about all the time I spent as a kid catching garden snakes, and putting them in cardboard boxes (I'd feed them though, by throwing in worms). My mom kept making me let them go, though.
It was probably all that Crocodile Hunter I watched as a kid, lol.

My point being bug is not a scientific word and, as such, does not have a concrete definition.
That actually wasn't your point. You called someone out for refering to spiders as "bugs"...and now you're saying "well, bugs can be a lot of different things!"
Unless it's a harmful or pest insect (or arachnid), I always go out of my way to carefully take such creatures that end up in our house back outside alive. Sometimes I even just let them be if I find one inside.

Yup...spiders. Small ones I can probably deal with, but those big ones I just hate. Especially when they get in the house and on the ceiling...just, sitting there. >_>
Also hate the webs they built in the middle of the walkways, and they sometimes look like they're floating there. Seriously, I get nightmares constantly about running into thousands of webs swarming with spiders. T_T
I saw a giant spider that is black with orange stripes outside of my window. Luckily, my stepfather killed it.
I'm not afraid of spiders, I can't bring myself to kill one and if it's in a bad place in the house I relocate it outside. I had to laugh at the rattlesnake photo, I ran over one of those when mountain-biking near my office, it was laying across the trail enjoying the sun. I didn't stop to see if it was okay...

...I wonder what a pet bat would be like...as long as its gentle and wouldn't bite me then I'd love one. They're awesome. lol
I dunno about Tarantulas though...I mean, its still a spider. A big...hairy spider. O.O
I'll take a bat over those things any day. x3

I don't like spiders. Even though I find the really tiny ones cute, the sight of a big spider on top of the ceiling above my bed makes me a bit nervous. It's not because I think it'll harm me, it's because I detest the thought of me swallowing it in my sleep. Or it crawling into my long hair....
But I've held a tarantula before and I thought it was kinda cool. So hairy!
And I like bats. Especially baby bats
Meh, the little ones are no big deal. A big one might unnerve me a little if I found it, but then I would either just leave it if it's outside or kill it with my foot or a flyswatter if it's in the house. When I was younger, I used to be scared of bees, but now I'm not. They don't mess with me as long as I don't mess with them. A handy lesson from nature, isn't it?
Now, I would not want to meet this thing in the wild.
Snakes are cool when they're in the zoo, pet store, or otherwise locked up or kept under control. They're not cool when they're in the wild or on the loose from the pet owner. A dinky garter snake isn't too bad, but anything bigger and I'd run away. You're not supposed to mess with wild snakes anyway.
I mess with big snakes all the time. I don't touch any that cn kill, but my brother does.
