Topic: Music thread?

Correct me if I'm wrong and there is one already, but I'd like to talk about music. Personally, recently I've been listening to a lot of Lemon Demon and Neil Cicierega in general. He's a neat and talented guy. Also some cheesy sonic soundtracks. I like that stuff okay.

So, what music do you, humble nintendo life users, like?

Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Scott Weiland, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Monkees, Beatles, Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams, Sting (plus the police), Tom Petty (plus Traveling Wilburies), George Harrison, John Mellencamp, Boston, Chicago, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Simon And Garfunkel, Genesis, Phil Collins, Micky Dolenz, Goo Goo Dolls, Lita Ford, Pat Benatar, Adema, Stone Temple Pilots (only with Weiland singing), Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Kiefer Sutherland, The Bacon Brothers, Roy Orbison, The Doors, Journey, Matchbox Twenty, Collective Soul, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp, Matthew West, Kiss, Cinderella, Rickie Nelson, Jan And Dean, U2, Bon Jovi (and his solo career), Andreas Johnson, The Bus Boys...yup, list can go on and on, but these are the ones that I have the most albums (Cassette, 8-track, vinyl and CD) of, plus, most of these artists I've seen in concert (sometimes more than once). But anyways, even though I'm only 38, I'll listen to anything from the 50's-late 90's...just will never get into Pop, Rap or Country (definitely hate country). Other than that, I also stay away from this new music of remakes and fake instruments and fake singing (sorry, synchronized singing)

@JLPick That's a pretty long list of mostly people/groups I know about but don't KNOW about.. respectable tastes though, even though I love poppy stuff. I am a dumb kid, after all.

There have been several 'music' threads - all of them collapsed under the weight of gigabites of youtube videos that people keep posting to let other people know what they're listening to, without realising that nobody watches them and they just make browsing a miserable experience.

@Anti-Matter you're indonesian right? There's a pretty nice compilation of indonesian psychedelic rock called "Those Shocking Shaking Days" - it's reaaaally good, you should give it a listen.

Linking to the videos isn't the issue, it's that nobody watches them. And the only reason people don't is because this isn't a forum where we're all going to have similar taste in music. More than that, pick ten random active users and they'll all have massively different levels of interest in music.

And don't forget this Indonesian (Javanese) vibes from Super Mario Odyssey OST.

It'll sound stupid but me I somehow like country music. And rap too if it makes any sense. But in my car I only play the Beatles.

Me? I enjoy tunes from the classic rock genre.

Basically: The Beatles, Queen, Billy Joel, and most of those type(s) from the 1960s/1970s. I do also enjoy some other stuff, such as Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth; I also really like music such as Enya, Imogen Heap, to more unknown/etc. bands/artists such as Buena Vista Social Club, to weird one-offs such as one-hit wonders, and even a few obscure songs, like Dog Police (Yes, that's a real song; Check it out on Youtube sometime, it's early 80s MTV weirdness!).
