high school wasn't so bad going into freshman year for me mainly because i was in band -- it helped being part of a bigger group, i think, so you might want to try signing up for clubs or sports if you aren't a band geek like i was, lol. just keep an open mind, be prepared to study hard, and just be yourself. you'll be fine :3

Congratulations with the graduation, WhoKnew. [What in the starworld happened? In the Forum Topics box, my avatar was not showing up; and in the General Discussions forum, it was said that the topic was last answered by TheFox, when it was last answered by me! I'm wondering if it's because he and I posted at the same minute [00:59 BST] (before I remade this post)? It's very strange.]
Congrats! Keep in mind that high school will not be anywhere near as scary as you might think, even in a big school. Like Dragon mentioned, the best way to get adjusted is participating in whatever clubs, sports interest you.
Once you get through that first week, you'll wonder what the heck you were ever worried about! =D
I just graduated from Middle School last week! I won all sorts of little academic awards that they were giving out. Yep, I'm a dork. Good luck to ya in High School WhoKnew. I can't give you any advice because I'm in the same position, but good luck!

You know all that stuff you see on TV about high school dramas? Anyone with have an ounce of intelligence would know that those kinds of things are horrible representations of real high school. I wouldn't worry about the transition too much. As long as you had good study habits in middle school, you should be fine. My transition was practically seamless, as I hardly needed to increase my work ethic in order to succeed. In terms of social tips, I was on the tennis team and in band, so I would have to agree that extracurricular activities help out a lot.

Going off of what TBD, shpydar, and Bleach said, they're all right. Find some extracurricular clubs, study hard, and don't try to be cool. At a school of your size, trying to be cool as a freshman when you're not doesn't work.

HUGE thing I forgot!
Yeah, know your place. If a freshman is ever seen trying to act cocky and cool, they are almost always despised by the upperclassmen. By all means, be yourself, just don't be obnoxious! I'm not saying that freshman deserve less respect than others, I'm just advising that you stick to your own group of friends before you start chumming it up with the seniors.

"Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Oh! Back to school... back to school... back to school. Well, here goes nothing."
